only way you can do it is to have crazy tall risers, and you're gonna hate it! I did it with my GPR and it was like wheelying with ape hangers!

if you want DB bars, trade your scotts for a hyperpro and then put db bars on.

Re: Scotts damper and renthals on an F4i???

I have an f4i with a 929 front end. I had a gpr, but no way to get db bars on, so I got one of those shindy/daytona dampers, but there wasn't much info on how they mount. Turns out it wouldn't work. I have the FI risers on the stock 929 triple, and the shindy will hit the risers if you mount it the way it is supposed to go on. My options now, are:

1 buy the 929 mounting kit for the shindy, (I have the f4i brackets). btw, I didn't buy the 929 kit origionaly because it said it came with the "light" damper. Therefore even if I get the 929 brackets they might not work with the "standard" damper in the f4i kit.

2 fabricate brackets to mount the shindy damper on the fron of the bike where the front stay would go, much like a stock 01-03 gixxer looks. I think that might work and actually be out of the way. Only draw back is that I'd have to keep it streetfightered.

3 buy a hyperpro.

In retrospect, I wish I had just bought a 636 they don't seem to have the front end problems of the f4i. But, if I did have an f4i and I wanted to upgrade the front end, I'd put a gixxer front end on it, and use the stock damper, maybe with heavier oil to stiffen it up. Not sure if that would work though.

one of my boys has an aftermarket top triple for his f4i with risers to lift the bars over the Scotts.

It succks. It feels like you're riding a chopper. And in a wheelie, you're leaned so far back your arms get tired real fast. Yeah, it suucks.
