does any body have dirtbike bars on a 636 (03-04) with the front fairing still on. i dont want to take my fairings off. if you have seen bill d's bike i am going for something like that.

also for those of you running DB bars what style bend are you running. i want to go with fat bars (1-1/8) but dont know about all the diffrent bend options.

last question what about after market triples who is running them and pics of them on a 636 with or without the fairings would help.

 

I use Tag bars....inexpensive....but still nice(my advice would be to just go the dirt bike bar rack and just grab them and place them on a counter or something around the height of your bike and what ever feels the best to you i would take)
i have an upper i have put on several times.....it will fit pretty well but you might need to slightly trim the ears on the upper so the bars don't hit when you turn. other than that you should have no problems.

 

thanks TrafficCriminal do you know what bend bars from tag you have there are about 20 diffrent styles. height, bend back angle, width. all could come into play when trying to fit up a set when trying keeping the front fairing on.

Not sure about the specifcs, but most of the TAGs are very similar.........i personlly don't like phat bars...but thats just my opinion........more $$$ when you bend or brake em....and less of a style and bend selection when your buying them.

thats what is was think low and straight still would like to see some pics maybe tonight a few people could post up for me. thinking about the LSL kit wondering if with the offset risers give more clearence up front for the fairings.

i have seen alot of people rocking them this weekend and since i have 2 bikes i figured i would give them a try. just want to get the best setup so i can make a good judgement on if i like them or not.

triple is a 03/04 drilled with stock cables and ill get some pics of bars and risors here shortly

 

I went with a fullthrottleinc tripple clamp. Got me some Pro-Taper Contour 1-1/8" bars in a Woods Lo bend (had the lowest rise, least pullback, at least the best combo of them for me!)

I love my DB bars.......but if you're gonna rock DB bars with an upper, be prepared to take some **** from DB bar haters, and even some who love DB bars!

I HAD an upper on my bike until I flipped an endo 3 weeks ago...now the upper is rashed pretty bad, and crakced in several places(carbon fiber upper, stock would be in 273 peices!), but the healight is DONE, and the fairing stay is in peices!

Now I have an Acerbis light because it was laying around, otherwise I would have nothing!



Talk to Bill at FullThrottleInc.net about getting one made, his works really well with my hyperpro, and I'm pretty sure the LSL kit won't, the risers are located really far back so the bars will clear the upper, so the bars would destroy the upper by simply turning them!

are you running a honda 600rr. i just got an email back from bill and he said he dont make a top tripple for a 636. told me to go with the lsl kit.

 

Ed, why don;t you ask the dealer if you can buy a whole bunch and return the ones you dont want. Or when you get your new top tripple, take the bike to the shop on a trailer, and try a few on. No reason why you can try on shoes but not handlebars! i mean especially if they are so different, i doubt the dealer would care
