Idle Or Throttle???

Alright so I learned slow wheelies without turning up my idle Before I broke my leg I had them at about 3-5 mph and pretty steady on my 01 Gsxr 6 with a 64 rear sproc. I just started riding again after being out since Novermber and changing my rear sproc to a 56. I'm starting to get it back, but it's pretty much like starting over. So I want to know what our community thinks on the best way to go about learning slow stuff, should I just turn my idle up or should I learn everything without idle, just using my throttle? I'd like to hear some reasons why, either way, rather than just saying do it. Thanks StuntLife.

Re: Idle Or Throttle???

Learn how to go slow without the idle first,it will make you a better rider. You want to be able to wheelie without the idle. Then turn the idle up and learn to ride for tricks like no handers etc...

Re: Idle Or Throttle???

i was able to just use throttle and brake when standing up,
but sitting down i was getting nowhere, then i turned my idle up and
voila. after getting them good and consistent i realized if i just lean forward a little bit i can take my hands off.

please omit everything i just said, u must clutch it up at 14000 rpms in first gear at 2 mph while sitting on the backseat.
i cant handle you being at the same level i am when i get back
p.s. ya whoolies is gahhbage

Yeah I turned it up and have been workin on just lettin idle carry me, but I was curious if I should learn most tricks with out idle up, eh whatever. Yeah "ryders" is correct, good catch on my typo, thanks.

Re: Idle Or Throttle???

i'm a spelling bee champion... not too many "slow" tricks to learn without idle.. scraping, and steering i guess without idle.. but idle is super easy, shouldn't take anytime at all... get idle good.. then tons of tricks follow easily.. then you hit a wall of learning tricks n hate life
