Another stoppie question

How far should you be able to roll a stoppie if you're grabbin brake around 35-40mph? Assuming that your close to balance point like you should be how far should you be able to go?

Im only getting probably 15-20 feet and it feels like im way up there...and its not one of those "it feels like its so high" when its just barely off the ground...I've had other people watch me and they say im up there too...

Can't see behind your upper so I have to ask......you have a damper??? If not, get one. Scott's, Hyperpro are both good, and heard about a "pitbull" damper thats supposed to be pretty good too. Rotary will limit you to clip-ons if you decide to swap to DB bars later though. I would get a good Hyperpro damper!

On your form:
1)look up more,
2)arch your back(stick your stomach out),
3)and lock your arms and stay centered on the bike

from 40mph I'll roll prolly 150-200' (no guages so guesstimating my speed based on +13 gearing and mid-top rpm in 1st gear from 150' approach), BUT I'm off the brakes for a good % of the time..............only side effect is crashing them which my roadrash is starting to heal quite nicely by the way, hahaha

only other thing......SAFETY FIRST .....get a jacket and a spine protector, I don't care how hot it is outside. My spine protector is the only reason I'm not in a wheel chair right now! A jacket would have just saved me from some of the roadrash.

You've cought the endo bug now, there's no stopping........welcome to Endo Lovers Anonymous support group

Re: Another stoppie question

look forward lock arms. it helps so much. night and day u will feel ur distance increase. u will also feel like ur gunna crash a lot when u get out of that power stoppie phase. now go fukkk it up and tell us how u did

+1 on spine protector, or get a 661 pressure suit or someshit

Re: Another stoppie question

its a rare occasion for me to not be wearing the jacket and yes, i have a GPR dampener...

i guess ill have to work on the form though, probably not something you can change overnight...

the question came up because i was riding with one of the better riders from the area a few days ago, and when he rolls stoppies, he was bringing them up the same speed as me, but they just looked like they were just floating like there was no braking effort at all...

this was also on a 929, and hes a bit bigger than me so he's got more weight to throw around...it just pissed me off because it looked like i had them as high as him, but his roll so damn easy....

oh well, looks like im off to practice tonight...

he's also bringing them up faster if he's doin it right. a 929 is gonna get speed up a lil faster too so the weight transfer is helped too when going from acceleration to deceleration that in turn helps lift the rear tire.

Your GPR will work fine, but you can focus on your form for a few days and you'll inadvertantly start to see longer distances. After that start working on popping the rear tire up faster...........your distance on an endo is determined by how fast oyu get to the balance point and what speed you enter the endo.

Practice practice practice, but take caution when you do and take baby steps........I got that distance without ever wrecking an endo, then flipped one because I decided I wasn't getting better fast enough!

I got an Icon Feild Armor vest, and say what you want about icon, but its the only reason I'm not in a wheelchair right now. I'll be wearing it underneath my jacket from now on!

I was rolling em out, hanging em high, and off the brake for most of it, then the bike started to steer a lil left, and when I tried to correct it to the right I think (I ruined my helmet on the ground) I grazed the lever a bit and it was enough to send me over around 25 mph.

On my way down the tail of the bike hit me square in the middle of the back. Left my back with alot of deep, painful bruising, bruised my ribs up on both sides, strained my stomach muscles(abs and obliques) when I hit, also sprained my right wrist and elbow and left roadrash half way up my left forearm, up and over my left shoulder. I twisted my body to try to avoid a direct hit of the bike on top of me, so I only took roadrash on my left side. It knocked the wind out of me BAD, and Josh Clem(controlledinsanity) and Brennan Foreman(midwestmulisha) said my eyes were rolling back in my head and my tongue was twitching really fast, they were gonna call 911 until I came around. I loaded up and drove to the ER about 40 minutes away, passing cops on the shoulder, and checked myself in for x-rays. I had to set my shoulder when I got there because I'm not about to let someone whos been awake for 28 hours do it! The ER doc asked if I had a helmet on, how it happened, how much my bike weighed,.......He then asked me if I had a jacket on, I told him no, but I had a spine protector on and explained what it was. He told me he couldn't figure out why my ribs weren't shattered and how my vertebrae weren't broken based on my bruising and how hard I hit. He told me the back protector kept me out of a wheelchair..........not necessarily meaning I would have been paralyzed, but meaning I would have shattered bones in my back!

I'm pretty damn lucky though, bought the Icon armor on tuesday, and got my new tail painted and put on on wednesday, didn't put the 12 bar on becasue I didn't want to cut my new tail..........no 12 bar hit me in the back or head! I flipped it wednesday, a day after I got the Icon armor, and the same day I took my bar off! VERY LUCKY!

Josh and his girl Clare were laughing at me because I was pissed I tore one of my favorite shirts, my new vest, and rashed up my, until then, pretty helmet
