How do i re inforce a subframe for my 12 bar
hey guys im new to this site so if im asking this quetion in the wrong part of the site sorry. well iv been stunting for 1 year now and am getting reddy to start scrapin my tail. i have an 03 gsxr 750 and piked up a nice frestyle ingunuity 12 bar. i have seen that a lot of stunters are reinforcing their sub frames my question how exactly do i do that. what kind of tubing or mettle do i need. my friend is a welder so i have some one so instal the mods i just need to know wear and what to inforce it with . thank you for any help i can get and once agin im very sorry if i posted this in the wrong place

u dont have to reinforce it but if u dont, u will most likely wreck it. i have seen people use 1/4" x 1 1/2 flat steel mounted to the drivers rearsets and up to the the passenger rearsets. you shouldnt have to weld anything just drill some holes in the steel and bolt it on.

those pics are of an 04-05
03's were strtonger than those, but still not the strongest subframes out.
people used to do a lot of different things to reinforce 01-03 GSXR subs but almost every solution was some form of metal stripping bolted to the sub and the rearsets.
We built a brace that worked GREAT, sorry no pics though. I was a piece of flat steel about 6" by 4" that we drilled a hole in and bolted to the shock tower. We then welded 4 tabs onto it, one for each leg of the subframe and bolted the tabs to the subframe. It sort of boxed the subframe in and made it REALLY strong, even if it did break the brace would still hold your weight so you could keep riding til you have time to fix it. hope that helps

well i totaled my 750 today . looped a wheelie tryin to shift from 2nd to 3rd so i wont be needing to do any thing because the 03 750 is in pieces
