Handbrake solution for stock solid clipons

I wanted to keep the stock clipons so I extended my stock bar. Just wondering if anyone else has done this. I had vortex clipons before, but I took em off to use on another bike, and I hated using them upside down so that wasn't an option.

The stock bars are solid aluminum, so I drilled and tapped the bar, chopped a section from another scrap solid bar, and used good strong steel engine bolt and steel epoxy to pin the two together. It should hold... If it breaks I'll update this post, but it'll have to wait until I get a new line made

Just thought I'd post it up incase anyone else needs a hb solution.

just take off the blinker cluster. Then you will have plenty of room...

I tried that and I didn't like it cuz you don't get the leverage. This way I keep the legal crap so I can daily-drive it and I think I'll have plenty of leverage for the brake. I'm rebuilding my nice bike so I gotta ride the stunt bike till it's finished

it's because you are using a gix1k master... an old one at that... get a new radial mount.. i.e. 04+gixxer, 1000rr, r1

I picked up my handbrake line today and installed it at the shop... took it to a spot and had it down in just a few tries. It's working perfectly.

The fitting that goes in the stock MC blew the o-ring out when I was bleeding it, but after refitting it and throwing a hose-clamp around it it's solid, and the lever is like a rock.
Here is the best pic I can take of it now... it's pissing rain outside. At least I got to figure out how to use it before the sky opened up.

the e-bay cage? the sliders ****!!! I made proper ones that don't shatter... and I had to shorten the under-U-bar by an inch on both sides... otherwise it's awesome!

funny you should say that. I dropped it pretty good today trying o's and the clipon is still perfect, and it did hit. I don't see myself dropping it any harder. The way I drilled and tapped it I didn't structurally weaken it.
