HB issues!

ok so I know this has been asked a million times. I have a 02 gsxr 600 and want a handbrake. I was going to order a gp tech kit but then everyone started saying that their junk and they will start to leak after a while, and they are not strong enough. Is all this bs or what cause i really wanna buy a kit asap but am getting irratated and confused trying to figure out what kit to buy. Or should i just get te full throttle kit which i really dont wanna do if the gp tech one works just as goo and is cheaper.Thanks

GP TECH = headaches
Fullthrottle = awesome.

if ur cheap and u have more time then money, get the gp tech fitting, i personaly have had no issues with my gp tech fitting but some people just don't posess afro enginering degree like me. fullthrottle is the way to go if u can afford it

I have an 01 750 the fitting will be exactly the same. After the initial install I bled it once and I have been good to go for the last 7months. No leaks and can lock it up with 1 finger. I'm running the master cyl/lever of a gixxer1000 flipped upside down.

I think the key is installing it correctly the 1st time preventing any leaks and then bringing it somewhere or if you have access to a suction type bleader that attaches to an air compresser to bleed it that way. Bleeding by hand or the cheap pump method i just don't think cuts it. If you have air in your lines no handbrake will work correctly. Also use high temp break fluid 450+degrees. Having cheap break fluid that breaks down with a lot of use will make your hand brake go soft also.

gp tech all the way had it on 5 diffrent bikes never a problem and yes you can use that master. an easy way to bleed the system is with a vacum pump from an auto parts store.

since it is such a tight tolerance, IF there is any problem with leaking, which i have never had, you can simply wrap a hose clamp around the GP tech adapter and tight it, problem sovled. I did that on my 03 Gsxr just for safety sake!

+1

The piece fits in there really tight but I put a hose clamp around mine too just to make sure it never moved.

Re: HB issues!

and if u buy multiple adaptors, the first one is $35 shipped, and each additional adaptor is $30 shipped. so if you ordered (2) from me, it would cost you the same $ as (1) gptech adaptor.

Re: HB issues!

just a quick question... how would that fitting work on my 05 r6... the res. is pressed in with an o-ring to seal it... not screwed on at the bottom like the others

A hose clamp would solve that issue. not a big deal.
