stunting the 03-05 r6???
ok, so i am asking some pretty prominent stunters in my area bout stunting the r6.... all i hear is dont do it.
i am asking about sprocket tooth count, and things like that... what to raise idol to, and everyone's answer is get a f4I, yadda yadda yadda. no-one has given it to me straight yet.... i know that the frame is real crunchy, and will snap on any hard scrapes. i know the trannies are ****, because i had one blow on me, but that was after 15,000 miles of trackdays and backroads.
what keeps this bike off of the "to stunt" list, and what is the main things i can safeguard against? if you just dont like r6's for stunting that is fine, but gimme the reasons that it isnt a quality bike for it.
i am pretty much going to use this as a street stunt bike(meaning full fairings, and no handbrake. also wanna be able to get on the freeway and get up to a good speed if needed.), what advice is useful to me being able to impliment it to my build-up of this bike. like what is a good sprocket size for effective slow manuvers, and keeping the bike semi street friendly.
what cages su(k for it, and what cages will work out better. i know the frames are thin and flimsy but what betters the rigidity is basically what i should be asking.
lemme know... i am gonna stunt it either way it goes, but i need to know what to look out for. front fork options, and so on. i know alot of honda riders swap their forks, for the liter bike counterparts. is there **** like that i can do to it?

i will definitely keep it on the streetz, i aint no lot lizard, but i do wanna be able to rock it to a crawl. oh, and maybe do a circle wheelie or two.
Re: stunting the 03-05 r6???
ok, stock, the r6's come basically five teeth up from other stock bikes. These things are COMPLETELY capable of anything idle, like circles and blah blah blah stock. Out of all the stock geared bikes i have rode, these are the easiest to ride stock. Pretty much just bump the idle up a little bit and go, you dont need much since its stock. turn the screw like i'd say one turn or maybe two tops... Also, they are just really responsive (twitchy) bikes. they have a kickass fuel management system so thats good. Basically, you're just gonna have to learn to have a smooth throttle hand.. learn how to engine brake these things and you jump on an f4i and you'll look like ****ing god or something, pick your diety...

Re: stunting the 03-05 r6???
ok, cool.... so right now its got a 520 q/a conversion on it, and filter and exhaust. should i put it back to stock, or just put back on my stock gearing??
i have the stock gearing from my 03, i believe it is a 16/48 setup in the 530 width. should i go with the lighter 520, or just throw the sluggish 530 back on?
hey bro, thanx for the info too. you are like the only dude that is givin it to me straight.... i called bullo last night that ***** told me to sell it, and get a f4 eazy....

Well jow if you could answer my question to I'd appreciate it!
When I'm doing 2nd gear staggered standups (balance point too plenty of other true stunters there told me... it floated in the rpms and wasn't racing towards the box and i had to use the rear brake a couple times) no matter what type of road I'm on even the flattest of all flat roads it wobbles back and fourh really rapidly the further i bring it back... Why is that and would it be solved by just putting both feet on the front pegs but that feels really weird to me.

it's because you're kelm and you chop the **** out of the throttle.. and the pic in your avatar sure is balance point.. if you're going 85..
n syfcu don't let jowalski's treck to be a badass get in the way of what you should do.. he just likes to babble about being gangster n streets all the time... same method for any bike.. +10.. idle to 3000...and any cage and reinforce the frame n subframe

I wanted to see if there was a reason to that! I had NEVER been on that Gixxer before in that photo, I've very accustomed to riding the R6 and am basically in love with it, the gixxer was all ****ed up if you can't tell by the picture while the R6 was minty fresh.
Re: stunting the 03-05 r6???
I have got an 04 R6 with a FI cage and 12 bar and geared-1 +9. The only prob. I have come across is a broken clipon comin down from a wheelie. It has gone down very hard and not broken anything, I have also been rockin o's all day with no problem, I think some people just hate on yamahas
Re: stunting the 03-05 r6???
I have noticed a violent wobble when I bring my wheelie past bp. My stuntin buddies always think I'm gonna eat it when that happens. I don't know sometimes, some people make it look easy. I just want to be smooth in all of my tricks.
Re: stunting the 03-05 r6???
i ride a 04 r6
and yea i heard the get a f4i thing like a million times
but i like my bike, gettin good and use to it
the stock gearin is good big rear sporcket for a stock one
but i'm goin 6 teeth up to a 54 in the rear. startin to get into the slow wheelie
deal and i wanna try some different gearing, but there is def nothing wrong with
the stock gearing, lots of excel to it
i got a powers cage comin now, and gonna geta 12 bar sometime in the future
and see it my subframe cracks off or not
as for what kelm said about it wobbling,
thats bullshit, you just can't wheelie ahah
mines smooth as silk through 1st 2nd and 3rd you just gotta balence right
i run 20 psi in the tire and no probs

damn clip ons breaking that's fvcked up... but yeah.. you can stunt anybike brotha.. don't let anyone tell u diff.. some are just prefered.. i.e. f4i.. i love mine, won't ever sell it.. it's perfect...
and kelm.. you are choppy on the throttle.. that creates wobble... and if your "pro" friends wobble on the same bike.. either axle adjusters or not balanced tire or wrong pressure.. it's NOT an r6 problem..i rode them when they first came out.. never wobbled

Re: stunting the 03-05 r6???
my 03 seems more stable than my o6 (cause 06 is front heavy now), and i was on the freeway rockin that ***** so far back today, i almost put the landing gear out. never wobbled once, and i am a ****in newbert to stuntin.
for my 03, i am thinkin about getting a 52 rear sprocket, and 15 front. i hope that will do fine for the first few months of me learnin slow ****.
i got 2 subframes, but i aint really trying to practice scraping........ i also got 3 sets of plastics(various pieces) so maybe i will keep em on tap just in the incident of a loop. i just wanna be able to get it to a crawl, but should i still get a scraper anyway??
