starting to hit the lotz..HELP
starting to hit the lotz..HELP
Ok, I’m trying to learn slow stuff now and need some help. I have my 05 gix 750 down 1 in the front and up 10 in the rear. I can clutch up first gear pretty high but I can’t balance it out. What is a good idle to start with? I tried 3k rpms idle but when its in gear it only stays at 2k. Should I raise the idle higher to catch it easier or just keep practicing at lower rpm’s?
Also when I launch in first do you all put most of your weight on your left foot and balance with your body or do you try to keep the feet evenly balanced? My bike keeps going to one side or another when I’m trying to get it up. – Only when I am going slowly though.
And question 3, one of my friends said I should stiffen up the rear and front shocks, should I do this or not? I thought by compressing my shocks, it would lower the bike and it would not want to wheelie as easily.
I can nail 3-5th gear fine and most of the time balance it out for some distance, still not regularly hitting BP though…
Thanks in advance!

Re: starting to hit the lotz..HELP
I would say learn at stock idle if your stock geared but since your not. Leave your idle where its at and raise the wheelie higher. Stay centered on the bike and lock your knees to the tank, might help you stay straight. Leave the suspension alone. Practice practice practice. After that, practice somemore. Eventually it will just click and you'll be rocking idle in no time. Remember, try to control the wheelie with the rear brake and not the throttle.

learn to keep constant pressure on ur rear brake, even before u clutch it up and control the wheel height with throttle input and keep floating em higher n higher till u feel ur bike go weightless..
