RPM for SSers
RPM for SSers
Heres my question. I got slow SSers on my -2 +14 geared f4i without a hand brake, but they look choppy due to the on/off the throttle nature of the trick. I can do them nice and real smooth, but only at like 12,000+RPM's. If I ballance them at 6,000 they still look choppy because or the same throttle manipulation. My boy can rock them smooth at 6,000 RPM but he is only geared -2 +5 and has his idle set a little higher (1,000-1,250). Is my 6,000 RPM unsteadyness due to my deep gearing or do I need to turn my idle up to 1,000-1,250 rpm? My idle is set at around 750 or 800 rpm.

leave your idle down and just work on the throttle control. it your gearing. i was riding a +7 and it was so much smoother than my -2 +10

Re: RPM for SSers
people can talk all the throttle chop jokes they want but...
i agree with the post above....
if you want smoothness then just take some time to get used to it, and practice it... you can be smooth no matter what trick, what gearing... all it takes are time, and effort.
good luck

Re: RPM for SSers
Im having the same problem. -1 +10 on my 636 and my seatstanders are too choppy. Im trying to do combo's and for the life of me if i move my throttle hand a hair the bike chops and i cant combo. I'm thinking I should just go faster in the seatstander?

my question is who looks at there gauges while wheeling??? just practice you will get there
any problems go ask korno he kills it without a handbrake or use to. but he might be retired and fat and lazy. probably has high cholesterol

Re: RPM for SSers
Pick the pace up a little....Meaning rpm's.....and make sure you're chain is properly adjusted. If your chain is loose, you can't be rock steady no matter what you do. Also check your rear suspension. Stiffen it up a bit so the bike isn't sloppy. Tighten the bike up then tighten up your throttle hand....in that order.
