a few words about "cheater pegs"

Don't waste your time w/ them.

I learned to slow down, 12 and idle w/ the stock rider and passenger peg(staggered and reg standup)... read about the cheater pegs... slapped one on my bike and loved the sh*t out of it. Used it all last summer. And was about to start learnin circles. But I really wish I never messed w/ it.

WHY? When I got rid of my bike couple wks ago and got a new one I decided that I didn't want it to look like a spiney f'n catapillar w/ my FIB and that I'd go back to the stocker....

First time out I looked like I'd never 12'd in my life... I actually almost wadded! I got so used to having all the weight off of my arms/wrists that once I had to hang off the back of the bike again I couldn't do it for sh*t.

And my throttle control took a huge dump as well.

So freekin frustrating... but after a couple of days "re-learning" I'm back to rockin it w/ the old peg and feelin back to normal.... but holy sh*t man, those things really screw ya up.

people put another foot peg further back on the subframe...so its like having ur foot in the bar...only ur foot is still on the left side of the bike, and not behind u

Cheater pegs seem like to much work for me personally... and they kind of look G A Y too. But I also believe firmly in do whatever works best for you, and if a cheater peg is what works... do it and rock it like nobody else can!

Yep, that's my point...

Pretty darn easy... toughest part was learning how to clutch up harder, as I was used to the geared 54 that barely needed a blip to yank straight up hard... f4i needs a little more juice, but once it's there... it's sweeeeeet.

So much easier to control and move around on. The tank is narrower between the knees, and the smaller rear tire profile feels like it just wants to dip into circles. The whole bike just feels smaller.

One other thing I'm learning is to be lighter on the brake... the 54 pulled alot harder on idle.

On a sad note... I REALLY REALLY miss the instant torque of the 54 on the street. Man that thing was a f*cking beast... on the f4i it's like, twist, wait a second, then it begins to build up some pull... but not like that rip yer helmet off power I was used to.

But, I'm more into the lots now... so that's the reason I jumped on the bandwagon... the 954 in the lot IS a good capable bike, just not the right tool for the job.

Yeah, I can't turn a circle on the 954 to save my life. I do like the power and all, but I picked up a f4i for the lot thinking i can do more on it. Im gonna get it registered, rock the lot and the streets with it.

I still have the 954, not sure if im gonna keep it or not. It is fightered and all set up for stuntin, but not exactly legal for the street.... Salvage title, not gonna ever get it registered.

I also have an r1 that I can rip the highway with, it is all stock. Not sure what to do, will probably just get rid of the 954.

Re: a few words about "cheater pegs"

Whenever I rode my 929 that thing was great, and had a TON of torque, but felt like a pig on one wheel.

Then I got onto my friends weeee little R6 and that thing just wants to dip, everytime!!! Can't wait to get an F4i!!!

Re: a few words about "cheater pegs"

Still off the original topic but....

I used to rock 2300-2400rpm idle on the 54 no problem....

On the f4i I can still do the 2400 but to get the same idle pull feel it needs about 3000-3200... haven't messed around any higher than that yet.

Oh... and round bars are the SH*T!! More than a couple scrapes that would've tossed me off to the side w/ a flat bar that I was able to save on the round.
