why cant i get it up???
why cant i get it up???
i can get it up that way, im talkin about the bike..hahaha for some reason when it comes to clutchin it up i cant get it to. i have an 06 636 and i guess im not ballzy enough yet or something. powering them up is no prob. i can get them up in 1st no prob. cant hold them there very long, but i can get the front up. 2nd gear it wont do it. so what am i doin wrong? i slip it to about 9k and then let it out and it just jerks me. im not standing up either. i guess i need to get ballzy huh? i dont really want to till i get from sliders or something though.
Re: why cant i get it up???
you're reving too high .try at about 6 or 7k rpms in 2nd gear and fan the clutch and scoot back a little further on the seat that bike will pop right up .then find the balance point you should be able to walk it down the street no prob! good luck !
Re: why cant i get it up???
just go out and practice no one is going to be able to make you wheelie suddenly..and use the search button if you really think you need help that bad there is a 50 page thread about how to wheelie..

No need for new gearing. The bikes not the problem, it's you. Try getting the bike to around 5k rpm, pull in the clutch about halfway, give it some gas and let the clutch back out. This should all happen in about a second. If it doesn't come up high enough try again but add some rpm's. Don't pull the clutch in all the way, just a little bit. Good luck
Re: why cant i get it up???
well i just tried it right now and i got it to pick up probably 8" off the ground and carry it for a few feet. so im learnin slowly now. i just got ballzy. its actually smoother then powering it up. i read the how to on wheelieing too and that helped alot i keep forgetting about the rear brake though. like forget to put my foot on it. i need to tighten it too. i have to push WAY down for it to even feel like its engaging.

636 is very high geared, give it a LOT of gas. unless I'm going 30+ in first most times it takes me a couple tries at least to realize how much throttle I gotta use since I normally ride my geared F4i.
2nd gear bounce and clutch, just experiment til it comes up.
It's a smooth bike but in my opinion needs -1 +2 just for street gearing cuz first and second are so tall, and my F4i is much more stable on the highway, 636 likes to walk around and wobble a lot for some reason, in first gear though it's fine.

yeah but stock f4i's have a better low end, i haven't ridden an 05 with any gearing on it so i wouldn't know but i would guess a little bit would fix that problem
here's a video of mine, i'm in the green http://home.comcast.net/~jared.hagen/636.wmv
sunday if you want i can take some helmet cam footage from different speeds and gears to show how much to clutch and ****, but for some reason windows stopped recognizing my camcorder so i'll have to fix that first

some people just don't get it.
