im tryin 2 get a pistol ...( or legal gun) but i live in ny and any1 who lives here knos its the worst state 2 try and get a gun .... im tryin 2 find a state where i can get a residence in and then get a legal gun without waitin 4 a year or so ..... also dont states or something offer some sort of deal where you can get a special permit if you travel in and out of states ... i heard somethin about that but dont really kno anything about it ..... any info would help

Arizona. It's an open carry state, and you only need a permit to carry concealed. As for the interstate law your were talking about, it's called Reciprocity. But that only applies if you have a concealed permit and travel from state to state. (there are states that recognize other states permits). Arizona is recognized by Alaska, Ohio, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, West Virginia and Texas. Mississippi & Idaho are pending.

No worries man. Im from AZ and have my concealed carry permit, so I'm limited to AZ and those states that have reciprocity with AZ. But you can have mutiple concealed permits in different states. My girlfriends dad lives in Utah but used to live in AZ. He has permits in both states.

 

Utah is recognized (or has reciprocity with) these states.

the requirement usually means you must live in the state you have a permit for....so in Vermont, a Utah CCW permit would not be accepted since I am a Missouri resident, BUT my Missouri permit would be accepted since the state issuing the permit is the same state I reside in.

Certain states, like Nebraska, only allow their own CCW permits or very few select other permits based on some detail in the other state's laws. For example....Missouri is a SHALL issue state, meaning if they cannot find reason not to, they SHALL issue the permit. Other states are MAY issue states, and MAY issue it to you if they want or MAY NOT if they feel you dont need/deserve it. Some MAY issue states dont allow SHALL issue state's permits.

Interstate purchase of firearms is allowed with long guns (rifles/shotguns) IF YOUR STATE allows them....like Kalifornia may not allow AR's with flash hiders and high capacity magazines, so as a Kali resident you cannot buy an AR from an out of state gun dealer unless it has a "bull" barrel and 10 round magazine and they cannot buy and ship high capacity magazines and threaded barrels into Kalifornia. Handguns, last I checked, can ONLY be purchased in your state, OR can be purchased out of state and be transfered thru an FFL in your state where your background check would be performed. Basically a pain in the ***!

Florida and Utah offer out of state people a chance to get CCW permits.....you just have to follow the law of the states you are traveling to/thru

 

Im not big on it but is there not a permit called Utah out of state resident permit..

 

Vermont residents don't need a permit or any type of handgun license. U can buy a gun and carry it out however u want. They also honor NY permits. I just got my permit in new York a yr ago. It's mainly just the wait for processing that takes time. Taking the safety course and gettin the required paperwork turned in is all u physically gotta do. From start to finish it was about 3 months to get mine. Getting into the class is what takes forever but I had them put me on the bump up list if someone cancelled and I got lucky

New York doesn't honor any other states permits. Anyone movin to by is supposed to turn there guns and go through the ny process. It's a lot of **** to deal with. I was gonna do some **** like that before cuz I got family in Vermont. But me and my boy just decided to do the whole process at the same time. And we got it done

I've had $2000 in tickets before.....a good lawyer can wipe it clean, but it aint cheap! My uncle is a Judge, so it helped!
