High-Point 9mm

I am thinking about buying a high-point 9mm but have heard mixed things about them. I want a 9mm for target shooting but don't want to spend a whole lot, so how are these guns? Any other suggestions for any 9mm under $300?

Re: High-Point 9mm

The old models were garbage for sure...they arent bad for target and just to shoot around with, but I wouldnt put my life on one I had one when I was younger and didnt really know awhole lot about guns and didnt want to shell out the big $ on something...you can find something better than a HiPoint for $300 though

Ive been around weapons a good bit so I know how to be safe with them, and I wouldnt carry it, haha. Does anyone know of something else that would be more reliable for around $300? Ive been looking around but cant find much. I was thinking my best bet may be something used from the local gun store.

Re: High-Point 9mm

most of the handguns i got are to pricey to be packing around . i just need a cheaper small gun to pack. but i dont **** that jams up . but its pretty easy to make a gun stop jaming

So you would rather protect your life with a cheaper gun that may not have the reliability of your pricey guns?????

Re: High-Point 9mm

Doing some research on the sigma, I hear mixed things, too. I hear some people say they are reliable, some say they are garbage. Im not looking for something to carry, like I said, so its not a huge problem if it jams every now and then, the mags will probably be kept loaded (not in the gun) just in case. So has anyone had any expiriences with the sigma?
Ross, do you think the high-point is worth the money for target shooting?
