smith &wesson m&p15a3. i cant get enough of mine. ran 300 rounds through it in 25 min. the gun never jammed and the last shot hit right in the target at 100 yards. 65 grain jacketed HP from wolf ammo takes yotes down bang flop at 300 yards.

Re: ar-15

Colt is definitley the way to go, but if you can't afford that Rock River makes IMO the next best one. They are also making them in a .308 caliber now.

are you an idiot? an AR15 is a 223 (or 5.56mm) round, it won't flip a car. The bullets tumble when they hit an object and really don't have any "power" behind them...they just penetrate.

I have 1 colt with a bore barrel and 1 H&K. They are all made from the same design so they should all have the same reliability. My issue in the army was a Mattel.

Also, for the record, the .308 is an AR10, not AR15. Have one of those also. now THOSE will knock something on it's ***....7.76mm...whoohaa

Re: ar-15

i got tha bushmaster and i love it. not much done to cept for a scope. tha mags suck though and i've had probs with my gas block. if ya get one i'd suggest doing some serious research on all brands! You gunna spend at least 1200 for a nice ar so u wanna shop around! i gotta place round me with mad used ar's and all kinds of rifles like that. u can pick up a hooked up rifle for like $800!!!!! pm me if you want one. i'll send pics of a few over there and u just have to fill out paperwork to get tha #'s put in your name but i'll get it for ya.

Re: ar-15

rock river wont be releasing the ar-10(308) till oct. of 2008. im trying to buy one b4 the government pulls a ban on us again. DPMS PANTHER makes a real nice ar in 308 cal. 20 inch barrel, flat top receiver, solid butt stock, and a quadrail hand gaurd. about 1300 bucks. when it comes to guns and optics, you get what you pay for. heres a pic of the gun i built for hunting coyotes...

Re: ar-15

I've been lookin into getting one, pick up a copy of AR-15 magazine an read some reviews, they do new ones each month. RRA seems to be the best(guaranteed 1/2 moa at 100 yards)

I'm not saying that all the other companies dont make a quality product, becuase the reviews all say they do, not just from this one magazine either.
Rock river arms www.rockriverarms.com

stag www.stagarms.com

armalite www.armalite.com

LaRue www.laruetactical.com

bushmaster www.bushmaster.com

patriot ordanace factory www.pof-usa.com

DPMS www.dpmsince.com

LesBaer www.lesbaer.com

Lewis maching and tool www.lewismachine.net

there are plenty too look at, all are pretty much equally customizable.

make sure u get curved 30 round mags for more reliable feeding

so many choices!!

Kinda, except not really.

Differant bullets out of differant guns do differant things. The rate of twist, weight of the bullet, how hot the round is, distance of the shot and the bullet type (fmj, hollow point etc.) all dictate what the bullet will do to the target. As far as same reliability, again depends on the gun. A chrome lined barrel usually lasts longer, and has looser tolerances. A gun that has loser tolerances through out the gun may be less accurate but won't need to be cleaned as much and such. A lot of people believe that $2000 colts are more accurate then $800 RRA's, but also feel the RRA's give them less issues...

And its 7.62mm, not 7.76

Re: ar-15

i can do 1/2 inch moa with my smith at 200 yards...the question is can the next guy that picks it up do it. pretty much all the manufacturers listed will shoot a 1/2 moa group. but it takes alot of range time for anyone to be able to shoot with that kind of accuracy. if your not shooting competition, you dont need that kind of ability. a 1 or even a 2 inch moa group consistantly will kill any animal or whatever else your shooting just as well as even a 1/4 inch moa group.

how do you know about quality if it's never been fired? you could have a bent barrel and not even know it.

: You're right I dont know but chances are its highly unlikely and by the reviews Stag has gotten I'd rest my last dollar on it.

Re: ar-15

For the money the RRA or the Bushmaster. If you want something more expensive look for a Colt HBAR rifle. If you want some serious accuracy look into Compass Lake Engineering's complete uppers and barrels.
