Re: Homemade Silencer

sliencher just gives the expanding gases a place to expand before completely exiting the barrel.

if you want it REAL quiet, sub-sonic rounds will be what you'll need.

Re: Homemade Silencer

Works better with baffling between the washers. 8 washers or so per 10 inch silencer works nice, preferably with a ported barrel if you can machine one. Steel wool or fire-proof home insulation works very well between the washers, and you only need to re-pack after 50 to 100 shots or so cuz it packs down.
For a rifle drill a 1/2 inch down the barrel and tap in a threaded pipe fitting, then use a long nut on the silencer, with a threaded fitting and a nut on the other end of the cap so you can easily thread it on and off, cuz if you're semi auto (or full) then you could blow the silencer off if it's not attatched properly
...... from what I've heard
