Which ruger should I get? .44 revolver, or .45 P90
Which ruger should I get? .44 revolver, or .45 P90
Heres the deal, my grandfather is going to give me one of his guns.
One is a newly refinished .44 super blackhawk
The other is a .45 P90
Im not a big gun buff, so im not sure which one to get....On the one hand, the .44 is a goddamn hand cannon, and the other hand, the .45 would probably be cheaper and easier to fire at the range.....as well as more easily concealed.
So, what do you guns guys think?
Oh, and does any one know how the law works in California as far as him giving me the gun and registering it and all that?
Thanks!

and as far as legalities on him giving it to you, you by law don't have to do anything if it is a gift and no form of payment is exchanged, but if you wanted you could just write up a bill of sale with the make and model and serial number stating that said property is changing hands but no payment is being exchanged
Re: Which ruger should I get? .44 revolver, or .45 P90
im sure because when you buy a firearm the registration of that specific weapon dosen't go to the state or government it's just for the shop owners records personaly in which he must keep if a situation ever comes up

as for your situation the ruger blackhawk is a respectable gun.....id go with that.....i dont have to high of regard for ruger semis...theyre cheaply made and arent very reliable....theyre a favorite of ghetto gun slingers cause theyre cheap.....
Re: Which ruger should I get? .44 revolver, or .45 P90
you can go to lcav.org to check you local hand gun laws but both are a great choice in my opinion, i have a p-95 wich is a ruger semi 9mm and i have never had a problem/jam with it and they must be reliable since its the new service pistol for our troops d-unit must be thinkin of hi-point for a favorite of ghetto gun slingers cause there are cheap

Re: Which ruger should I get? .44 revolver, or .45 P90
Holy gun snob. Rugers can be very nice for the price. I've read a few torture tests on their semis and they always fair well. I'm also a fan of the red and blackhawks. Hell my Hi Point was nothing but reliable and accurate. You don't have to spend $600+ to get a decent pistol. I like both that I have at the moment and neither were anywhere near $600. I have an RIA m1911a1 and a S&W Model 19. Great shooters without breaking the bank.
Re: Which ruger should I get? .44 revolver, or .45 P90
Heh...not really being a gun snob but if i have to count on something saving my life im gonna spend the extra $$$ to make sure i wont have any loading probs etc when it really counts....case in point the last gun review i read was about the new p95...now the whole review went pretty good and im thinking that i might like to pick this up since i dont have anything in 9mm...well the only gripe the guy had was that by the end of the test the lever on the safety fell off the gun...now i dont know about you but a brand new gun shouldnt just fall apart(btw ive never had anything fall off my hk or glock)...buuuut apart from that it was ok...so i prob would consider getting that as a plinker....but i would never have that as a home defense/carry etc weapon(not that i can carry in **** jersey but u get the point)...as far as ruger revolvers go ive never heard any negatives towards them and i would def pick one up if i had the chance....hence my original opinion that he should take the revolver still stands....
Re: Which ruger should I get? .44 revolver, or .45 P90
i would def with out a doubt in my mind would buy the .45 yea it is gonna cost more for the gun and well cost a few bucks more for shells. but the .45 will pack more of a punch. and well for exp. when i was lookin for my guns every always said go with the .45 do liek i did get the .45 and well build ur collection around it. as .45 is proablly the best all around gun u could get. go online and read articles and ****. but i am tellin you right now dont just buy .44 b/c u dont wanna spend the extra 150 bucks or so and the few dollars more for a box of shells
