They are banned by the ATF!!!!! Serious Felony to have one unless you are Law Enforcement, ATF Authorized, or Special Military stuff only!

Re: silencers????????????????????

Okay, I know a little about this..... I have a few suppressors for various guns on a class III permits. First off, Silencers are legal for private ownership in the following states: AL, AR, AK, AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IN, KY, LA, ME, MD, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WI, and WY. Additionally, they maybe owned by Class 3 dealers and Class 2 manufacturers (but not individuals) in: CA, IA, KS, MA, MO, and MI.

If you live in a state where it is leagal... You CAN own a silencer. All you have to do is have it transfered through a local class III dealer. YOU DO NOT need a class III lisense. You will be required to pay a "tax stamp" that will cost around $300 to have it transfered into your name....

Its hard to explain if anyone has any specific questions send me a PM and i can help better.....

Ya, actually. Machine guns and Suppressors both fall under the same laws.

Re: silencers????????????????????

they are pretty popular around here.....Easy to get , as long as you have a squeaky clean record....Like crazy954 said...... It costs a $200 tax here that goes to the ATF AND you have to wait 60 Days to get your little paws on it.... and supressors range from $200 to $500.

I'm getting one for my Walthers p22.... and supposedly I'll be able to use it on my Ruger 22LR also (if i buy a threaded barrel for about $90) Anyways my research led me to want to the SWR warlock....looks like a sweet little piece.... and I already have a laser sight on my little walthers.....a Suppressor is Just gonna make Plinking Awesome , Day or night, no hearing protection needed, no scaring the dogs...LOL..Shooting right out the window into the back yard .... no letting the neighbors know how much ammo I'm actually going through...ROFL

I already have a carry permit here in TN, so my record is perfectly clean, and it'll be easy for me to get approved.... It should be very cool.

Re: silencers????????????????????

Here are some possibly helpful links:

http://rotteneggs.com/r3/show/se/190638.html - Build a silencer

http://rotteneggs.com/r3/show/se/55019.html - Build a silencer (go to the comments section at the bottom and look for one by sokolov)

http://rotteneggs.com/r3/show/se/900...r&ww_with=eggs - Search results for silencers, the top two links seem to be the only good ones.

Hope that can help in a state where it is illegal.

by far the dumbest **** i have ever read if you dont like the way your face looks i would highly reccomend building one of these because that is all that going to happen you will fire it and the pvc tube is going to explode in your face. the true way to build a supressor is to have a lathe hollow out a bar of stainless steel and then you have to build spacers that look like this ) with a hole in the center --------
