Sniper subsonics

Bought 100 rounds for the .22 and was dissapointed. Packs a punch but not to accurate, and wasn't as quiet as people made it seem. I realize not many care about the .22 but figgered I post up my 'report' anyways. They pack a punch on a grill about 50 yards away, but even with my 3-9 scope it shot pretty inconstantly as far as a grouping goes. I'm going to try the CCI CB's so I can mess around the house without catching the neighbors attention..

Re: Sniper subsonics

Maybe try a different brand of .22 ammo. My wife's uncle plays around with older 'large barrel' .22s and he has found a several brands that group well up to 50 yards, but only a handful at 100.

The stuff I tryed is a 'specialty' ammo for .22s. The SSS shoots a 60 grain bullet opposed to a 40, and has a short casing. With good ammo my .22 will group really well at 75 yards, havent tryed at 100 yet though..

Buy the Aguila Colibri rounds. It's just primer and bullet. SUPER quiet. I shoot them in my yard all the time.

Word. I think thats what the CB's are. The damn SSS's are dirty as hell too. I've fired about 100 rounds and had to clean the gun twice from them, lol.

Re: Sniper subsonics

if you want a quiet round place moist paper towel in an empty open 2liter bottle in the freezer for a couple hours than take it out and tape it onto the front of the gun and do work.

Already bought one. Got it in a Savage 93 bolt action. It's about $10 for 50 rounds, not toooo bad, but not great either.
