hi boys was yesterday by my mechanic and was told that it would be easier and cheper to get a new engine called blacks today and they told me that they got 600 k1 engine with gear box for 550£ + fitting 200 .Is that a good price or thats expensive?? any advice from u guys??

 

i think it seems about normal, but keep your eyes pealed on fleabay youll probably get one for next to nothing **** loads of them around

 

Some guys off here have said you can get an engine for £250 off ebay, but then all the little extras add up too (like oil, gaskets, filters, tools that you don't have).

if you can wait you will find a cheap one that one i posted a link to in your other thread went for about £150
and £200 for fitting is about the average but you would be better spending the money on tools and manual and doing it your self £200 gets a nice tool kit going on and am pretty sure it wont be the last time you need work doing so it will save you loads in the long run
and changing an engine is a lot lot eaiser than you think dont be put off

 

thats what ill do ill try to get an engine but ill look for 750 k3 or will buy 600 but for a good price and try to fit it by myself cos finaly i want to learn how to do thins around my bike .

 

Go for it mate.

Your old engine might not work but it will provide loads of spares in the future.

 

I got a k3 600 for £350 with low milage and fitted it with a mate.
