Bedford/Cranfield area?

Any of you guys live around this area?
Moulsoe Road, Cranfield, Bedfordshire, MK43 0DB, U.K.

If so, tell me a little bit about it. Is it some boring *** hick town or what?

Re: Bedford/Cranfield area?

I don't live there nor have been there so can't give you too much info, but what I will say, is its a fairly good "stunt" location, it's fairly central UK and most of the stunt action goes on within a 150 or so mile radius of bedford ....

By the way, we don't have "hick" towns... we have "chav" towns unfortunately most towns include chavs.

This is a chav

(in all seriousness tho, it is a fairly central location and I'm sure someone who lives there/near there will post up more info soon)

LMAO! How easy is it to get around the UK? Hong long does it take to go 150 miles? How long does it take to get to London from there?
How much do bikes go for out there for a clapped out but road worthy stuntbike?
I just got a call on a possible job lead where I would be stationed there from July-November.
Also where would I want to live in this area? Part of the deal would be a nice, but not super baller apartment.

Re: Bedford/Cranfield area?

UK is fairly easy to get around, it's tiny compared to USA!! You could drive from top to bottom in a day I'd imagine... London area is a bitch at times as it's really busy... petrol(gas) is ****** expensive, road tax and insurance is also ****** expensive. If you have to go into london you have to pay £8 per day ($16) just to drive in (motorbikes are free tho, for now...)

150 miles can be done in a couple of hours, depends on the route really, lots of twistier A roads here but theres quite a few main motorways... as long as they aren't gridlocked from accidents its usually not too bad.

depends what bike you want really, you'd probably find an F4i for about £2000 road legal if you're lucky, problem is, the stunt scene here is pretty small so stunt bikes don't come up often, you'll have to buy a road bike and stunt-ready it.

If you do come over, make sure you come ride with us down in basingstoke (hour and half or so from bedford) :YEAH

The per diam would cover the price of fuel and stuff so I'mnot worried about that.. Sounds like asking for a car is worthless. If I got a bike I would have to buy it and then sell it when I left without getting *** raped too bad on the whole deal. I could always have the company ship over a cage, 12bar, sprockets, and handbrake. Keep posting up advice and I'll let you guys know if this happens. If it does it will happen quick. I will be on a plane in 2-3 weeks for spain, work there for 2 weeks, then move up to the UK for the duration of 4 months.

What you got? I might pick it up if this happens. I'll probably kill myself the first time out driving on the right side of the road.

Re: Bedford/Cranfield area?

I think you should go for it :YEAH even if its just to see what its like here :YEAH

Weather is usually crappy, wet a lot, but july-august theres usually a big heatwave so its not so bad.... if the SBF Stunt comp happens this year, you'll probably be over here for that as well.... it was AWESOME last year.

I'm sure there are people on here that would be able to help you in finding a bike as well if you gave them some notice... some peolpe just seem to find cheap 636's sooo easily

The pay alone is reason enough to go for it. I was waiting on an offical offer with another company that should come in Monday or Tuesday, but if the timing on this is right it would be badass. I wonder how much it would cost to ship 2 of my bikes over and back?

Sounds just like my bike, but I don't have a subcage. That might not be too bad. Probably loose 500 pounds selling it in the fall though.
