As for upper armour, i use knox stuff, but sixsixone stuff looks better imo. Although if you have a leather jacket, that will offer way better protection than any mx gear.
Lower armour, dunno. I use draggin jeans, which are quite comfy, but will stuff hurt if you smack your knee hard. Roller hockey pads will work, basically anything hard to avoid knocks.
if you're street riding and want protections, unfortunately leathers are your best option.

Ive got fucked knees from various incidents and the only knee pads I'll actually trust now are sixsixone 4x4 knee/shin guards... they feel really clumpy when you first buy them but when they wear in they are comfy and fully protect your knee and lower leg... I sold my last pair to Joe for some reason
but buying another pair now.. would reccomend them, I'm sure Tim and Joe would too..

ive got the knee and shin guards all in one! i looked at my knee guards yest and there kinda battered and scrapped to F**k so they have defiantly done the job for me! i have week knees too like sparx and so its a must for me to wear it all..... ive got some cheap top body amour which im gonna replace real soon!!
if you need hip and thigh amour i just found some wicked stuff... heres the link...
