Yeah he did drop his bike twice but in my opinion he got the shaft. Kane or Darius didn't make the cut so he should count himself blessed!

Re: Christian Pheiffer's 6pl..????

Yeah i reckon 6th was harsh but the judges all ways say dont fall off as ya loose loads of points.
I would not wanna be a judge as ya know what ever ya decide will be wrong though.
For me Bill D had it in the bag but i guess in the judges eyes he did have a very silly little get off to.
I reckon they should not be so harsh points wise if ya fall off otherwise every one will ride at 80 % if ya have a big get off fair enough but both cp and bill had little silly falls. just my
Big up to the judges though for putting their necks on the block. Especially Joe vert who had surgery friday morning for a bone graft from his hip to his wrist. He must have felt rough saturday for sure.

To be fair it was a bad comp to judge two riders went out then it rained for a while and the track never really dried making it tricky for all the other riders, i think c.p. had a good run mared by dropping the bike twice and losing so many points, had the weather stayed dry it would have been a different result but to be fair to all the finalists they all showed amazing skills on a really tricky surface and the judges had a hard time scoring

If you enter a competition and crash you are just showing how not to do it. Ind runs on freestyle are supposed to be dangerous yeah but you have to push yourself as far as you can go without crashing and that is a predetermined level you and only you decide.

Yes i think cp is amazing along with everyone else who i have seen ride from stuntwars and so on but if you crash you lose points. Just cos someone is technically better than someone else does not make them a better rider in comeptitions.

If you are trying to do something you cant do and crash then you suck cos you aint in control that simple. You might come back and do it in future whatever day is the day. Go ride for comps and **** if you want but if you dont have fun then you are **** out of luck cos you going to look like a ****** on a bike with a big ego and its that simple.

Hey toby im just saying i think a little get off like just stepping off it like cp did i think its harsh to say he crashed. The first get off he had was a proper get off. fair enough.
But i do know for sure if any one goes to stunt wars make sure ya go the week before as watching every one practise before the comp was just amazing. The comp after watching the practise to be honest was tame.
We went with joe to his spot one night to watch some practise and token was gob smacking!!!! Come the comp he was nothing like when the pressure was off at his spot. Just goes to show the comp does not mean any thing really.
If ya only watch at the weekend at stunt wars ya miss the real stunters who dont qualify. Some of those guys can not be missed !!!

Re: Christian Pheiffer's 6pl..????

I think competitions allow us to:
A. Have fun
B. Ride together and learn new tricks
C Admire what people have learnt on the come up inbetween comps
D. See who has the biggest ********* and who is not afraid to show what they have got (like vandal says some awesome riders in practice crumble under the pressure of being judged and some thrive on it) I guess it's just down to who you are!
E. Comps are great for everyone hangin after the **** is done too.... it builds the scene... there is not much of a scene without competition... but it's not really about who wins its about the relationship between human beings!! ie the love between the riders and the people that come and support us... the hate also as where there is human beings there is always confrontation, politics etc that's life

I am personally looking forward to all that this years brings-comps etc as i have a new bike (which sounds ******* angry and fuels well nowadays), a shiny red helmet and some orange shorts to go!!

Re: Christian Pheiffer's 6pl..????

My personal thoughts on falling off are thus:

If you fall off you should lose the score for that particular stunt, therefore if you bin every stunt you score 0, but you should keep tthe points for the stutns you have doen ie not get marked down as you have already earnt those points with good tricks, why should you lose em?

This would encourage the most twisted approach to knocking out the seriously dificult stuff and people wont go home upset after watching bland perfect runs!

Just my opinon.

Last year my runs sucked because i was not honest with myself and i thought i was better than i was, so i took myself to one side and found my weaknesses and built on them... prob is when you have high expexctations you tend not to enjoy what you do, so my advice is to not expect too much from yourself then you might just have a ball and losen up... hard to do in front of judges though (who likes being judged?!!)

there is only one problem with that...(if you follow xdl judging rules)...

as it stands right now a rider loses 5 points off of the top of their final score if they fall...

if you look at it as a "they lose points on the trick they fell on" idea, they could potentially lose more than 5 points...

say a rider was setting up to do a seat stander, jump through to high chair, then crawl back to 50 50 and cut into 50 50 circle and they washed out during that...

well, their overall score takes at least a point or two hit (lack of fluidity, showmanship, appearance)....

how do you deduct a wicked hard trick from variation and execution? do you deduct the same amount of points as you would have awarded for the fall?

this infers that you would know what the trick was before it became some mangled mash up of rider and bike...thus riders would have to turn in pre-run trick lists...

and then it also opens up the arguments from some "less than truthful" riders that "no, i wasn't going for that, i changed my mind at the last moment, bike wasn't right, etc" to try and offset the points they may lose...which in turn leads to other competitors arguing, doubting the results...

i think to keep things fair and simple, the 5 off the top is still the way to go...just my opinion though...
