Can no one in the Uk (outside the stunt world) make a video with more in it then crap burn outs??

Makes us look crap IMO

Rant over
Was pretty lame of them labeling it "Stunt comp UK" and then to only include burnouts... of Sparky. He did win though (but they didn't mention that fact?). I remember the actual bit they showed on film there cos sparky was whoring it up in the middle, blocking 1 of the 2 straight runs - not that I've ever got carried away in front of the camera

Thing is that it was a promo for the 2wheelwonderland dvd... not FROM bikechannel... It's up to them how they edit it, then I guess they sent it to them.

If you wanna make the UK scene look "better" Send them a clip

hang on that doesn't make sense (to me)? So you get really annoyed when someone promotes the UK stunt scene in the wrong way on one hand....

and on the other you really don't care what anyone else thinks it's just for those who ride?

Surely if you get passionate about something being wrong in your eyes it's best to actaully do something about making it better?

I'm all for the sport bin on Xgames or at least be known as a sport. But i like the freestyle side of it, the look of freestyle and how it's an extream sport. Thank means i like it to be in Xgames for the trick side of it, not the show side. Putting on a 20 stunt show like CP and AC did in Amsterdam was awesome, and looked the nut's. But the trick that seb5 did in his run was just amazing. Thats how i wont think sport to be, a freestyle run. Doing a show run is a hole world apart from me.

I get annoyed when the promoters show 10% of what the UK can do. And leave the other 90% out cuz they dont understand how hard that trick is.

I never said i didnt care at all, i said i dont care if they make a crap video clip (well thats what i ment it to say). I give up with all the show side of the stunt world. They can be fun and i'm still willing to do them, but that is not the reason i get my bike out at night, load the van and go and ride. I do that cuz i love the feeling of pushing myself more and more, bin able to do things i never even thought was possible on a bike 2 years ago.

What i'm saying is all the comp's and shows are bullshit. I go to them to ride with great people that have the same inspiration as i do, to learn new stuff and have the time of my life. I'm not gready, i dont wona be the best. I just wont to have the time of my life, with people who feel the same.

Re: Elvington Stunt comp

thats a very heart felt reply... a good one too... i agree with what you say as i was ousted from the York comp, the reason being i did not look "show" enough, apparently my bike and image was too scruffy!!!!!!

did not realise competitions were actually fashion sows! Thought they were about skill but there is always politics...

There is a way to beat this though... watch this space!

i think CP is an amazing freestyle rider.... i love the french riding...i love the amarican style, i think it's up to the British (we started this whole thing in the first place) to show the rest of the world that we can combine all elements and come up with our own style... but at the moment yes it does seem that it's all about burnouts for the papers but things will change.. because people are changing and it takes something special to wake em up and MAKE IT CATCH THEIR EYES! boom boom basil brush style fizzle lethal tizzle

I think the UK has our own style now. I like the Yank style but its not for us, we are just not small enough, or jump about looking out of shape like they do. We are not as smooth as the rest of the euro's either. But we are a mix of euro's, french and yanks. We just have to get our style known that little bit more. We have are own style and i think we suit it:YEAH

Re: Elvington Stunt comp

You're definately right about show runs and proper competition runs being totally different. and yeah my fave parts are riding with a whole bunch of stunters giving it large freestylee at the spot or on a rideout...

I didn't mean to put words in ur mouth Lee - I hope you get the buzz back for shows and stuff, ur a dang great rider bud - show jo public just how much we love what we do!!!

for me shows are a great buzz but for different reasons - especially the bigger ones like BSB and rockingham. The adrenaline kicks in hard :YEAH

no matter how big or small the sport becomes there will always be an underground element - that's just how it is. underground and shows/comps can both run at the same time.

No one rides for only themselves.. anyone that says they do, lies! Everyone shows off, tries harder and practices etc etc to impress someone or other... that is what improving yourself is about.. It's good to know you can do something but everyone here likes it even more when ya do it in front of everyone down the spot.. if someone truly rode for themselves then we would never see them! How can you improve yourself without comparing yourself to others, competing in competitions or just casually at the spot..

I ride because I fookin love it, and I want to learn new stuff, improve and get better... but that is also in th hope it will lead onto shows, comps, sponsors and so on... I will still ride if that doesn't happen.. but I don't spend every penny I got and most of my spare time on stunting for nothing.... I don't think many people do tbh!

You ride and show off to others and try to get better so you feel good, thats riding for yourself IMO

I've just got in from 2 hours down the spot with Billy, and had just as much fun riding with no one watching as i did at the comp in York. I'm smiling the hole time i'm on my bike. Dam i even smile when i ride a bike noramly on the roads, why??? Cuz i love the feeling the vibrations give me.... err..... i mean cuz i just love riding my bike, AMEN

Re: Elvington Stunt comp

I suppose you're right in a way Lee, maybe I'm just mis-understanding you. I got the feeling you were saying you dont need to do shows or comps or ride with others because you ride for yourself... but now I see you mean that you do all that because it makes yourself feel good and you want to do it not because others expect you to do it.. thats what i am also saying , I just didn't understand you lol.. n00b

sayin that tho i spend more time off the bike than on it lately, ****** circles to the left!! is it just me or is there no way to bail if it highsides! just spits you off superman styley
