Any one else losing gas in a wheelie

So when I first got my quad I noticed It was leaking gas like a motherfu(ker, when ever in a wheelie of course. I figure this something to do with the carb so it doesn't flood out. So what I did was buy a 2 dollar water bottle holder, got a 20 oz of mountain dew and two hose clamps. With that I Attached the bottle holder to the swing arm with the hose clamps, as far from the chain as I could get. Then I just drilled two small holes in the mountain dew bottle cap, one for the fuel to come in and one for a vent, and I used a little bit of hose that I had left over to make the vent hole up a little higher so it could hold more gas. Now I can ride for about 10 mins or so of pure wheelies before I just slide it out of the holder take off the cap and pour it back in, saves me a hell of alot of gas. Later on I put some duct tape around the bottle to make it a little tighter in there that way I can jump and it doesn't move.

pretty tight setup ya got there. i dont really lose that much gas when doin wheelies but if i do just one REALLY long wheelie i notice that it will act like its runnin out of gas, thats when i just put it down and it will run fine after that.

yeah maybe its mostly with just the 400ex, but the slower my wheelie was the worse it was, it pretty much drained out

Good thing with the Z-400 is if you happen to stall it, the gas shuts its self off. So no leaks when you kill the engine.

that is pretty nifty but a couple things...how much gas are we talking here? If I ride a wheelie for a mile or so, then put it done I will only have lost about 10 drops...

long wheelies like fast not that bad maybe only like a 1/2 a ounce, but when you start slowing them down like lidle speed, then i can fill up that bottle in like 5 mins

yeah I was gonna say the more vertical you get it (generally slower speeds) obviously the more your float will be off, etc and more gas will come out. Yeah it's weird because my neighbors ex drips like a bitch on wheelies and mines dry as a mother

yeah the steeper the wheelie is the more you loose so i loose gas mostly in slow wheelies well at least thats when i notice im loosing gass but on fast ones i dont look down much so i never noticed.
