What is your source file? DV-AVI? Sounds like your source file is too big for your OS / Editing program. Depending on your OS, your limit might be 1 gig 2 gig or 4 gigs. What program are you using to capture the video?

If possible, figure out exactly how long it will let the clip play before it stops. If it lets you play for 2:10, then recapture the video into smaller files of only say 2:00 each.

Good Luck

Not sure if I do it totally wrong, but when I capture clips they are typically around 10-30 seconds....I capture them 1 trick at a time. Seems to work . Might want to consider giving that a shot Carl?

i save the film from my mini-dv camera to my comp ranging from 5 mins to 15 and it saves it as an mpeg.. i then burn it and give the cd to carl to work his magic

I don't worry about space... using a Mac G5 with 400GB kinda gives me some freedom to capture all I want!

You got that right. The system I use to make our cheesy mountain lifestyle commercials is the same **** they used for editing "the Hulk", "lord of the rings", "spiderman"... and many more. It's a pretty sweet set-up. My PC at home is a 4yr old Pinnacle system running adobe software, but I still have 200+GB on that machine too. I guess when you do video editing and graphic arts for a living, you get to play with some nice equipment.

Easy there Mr. Funny Guy. I built my main PC itself to be a video editing PC and also my laptop I just bought was setup to be able to handle the smaller jobs. I'm just not a fan of Macs much OOOOOOORRRRRRRR The Hulk.
