just wanted to pass along a helpful hint for all of us 400 ex owners who love to slide on the back bar. un lucky for us honda was not thinking about us burn up the bar and then having to weld a new one on. but i don't think intented for us to ride them the way we do either. so , i go to home depot buy some fat azz rope, wrap it tightly all the way aroungd the bar, zip tie it on and i can solide for dayz with no wear. doesn't effect how long u slide, it just burns up....wear it away, buy more rope....just a hint....cost about 1.50 each time .:D :D

go with 4x12 flat stock! never wears out, sparks like hell!

 

you need to weld the subframe from where you mount the brake light to the nearest bar,you can weld all the steal to the back but will not be strong enough and you will bend the **** out of your subframe !!!!!!!!! so do the welds on the subframe and the bottom too happy sliding p.s. rope holds you up steal goes much better

 

believe dat! found out the hard way. bent my subframe like WHOA! gotta grind off my bar & re-enforce the **** out of the subframe. My buddy is taking a class to be a pimp daddy welder, so i might have him make me a subframe as the final project for his class out of some hardend steel.
