I understand... but if you're on this site every day like some of us losers..... it gets tiresome reading the same threads over and over. No biggie... hope you find a bike that suits you best.

Correct... the only physical difference is the headlight assembly and the colors. Other than that.... I think the machines are identical.

I believe the 400EX was released in 1999. Maybe even 98, not sure. As of 10 hours ago it's the year 2004, thats a 5 year run for that quad. It's still competitive with the new suzuki/kawi 400. If you look at the Z or KFX design and frame geometry it has a suspicious resembelance to the 400EX. Now I'm not saying Suzi and Kawi copied honda, (but they did). Now Think about this, if Honda is releasing a new sport quad this year, 5 years after the last sport quad update was made to their lineup, it's gonna rip ****. No questions asked, it will be THE BEST sport quad on the market. Period.

they came out in 98, and all the companies now copy the design of the 400ex, they all resemble it, and if the 400ex can last this long and still be runnin with the new 4-wheelers these day's (z-400, kfx-400, raptor, preditor, and v-force) then that's say's alot for honda they deff built that quad to last, and I think the 450r will be even better.

If you want something reliable and cheap go with a 400ex, if you want something unreliable yet higher technology go with the z400. Suzuki's reliabilty sucks when it comes to quads, i seen this photo of a 400ex and z400 who hit head on and the z400 frame was totaled while the 400ex only suffered a bent front bumper. Look what happend to Tims z when he landed funny off that jump, that would of never happend to a 400ex. if you want something higher tech at least get the new honda 450 or yamaha 450.

Maybe theres just too many people here who only stunt quads on the street.

What's Unreliable about Z/KFX's? Nothing, besides the Frame Issue, but it's a first year Quad and there's always some Bugs to work out. And besides, not every Frame on Every Z out there is Gonna Crack. It doesn't matter where you ride it, trails, street, anywhere, the Z is a Supperior Quad....That's just my
