My 400 ex is pretty much crap. I bought it used for 3500, and there is alot of things wrong and its getting annoying. For one it wont start in the cold at all using choke, it wears down the battery, and it will start to idle on ful choke but then it just stall, Do you guys have any idea why?

 

try a 42 pilot jet and or clean your carb and air filter

 

It's a honda. Take care of it and it'll run forever.

 

It runs now, i put dry gas in and cleaned the filter thanks for the help guys

 

also you might see about runninthe valve too as that will make one hard to start.

 

yeah tlittle mine is still trashed banging like a fat girl on a buffet,,,,,,and it still rolls out..haha

 

mine used to HATE the cold. Probably the oil that was a year & a half old.

 

400exs are cold blooded anyways. I've heard changing the the pilot jet helps this. Also run a new spark plug.
