anybody ride the new YFZ 450?

I already know how fast it is, I was just wondering how the power hits when you get into it. Is it more like a two stroke feeling power curve, or sort of smooth and manageable with power from the bottom to top of the rpm range.

Sorry BlinginR602...... I had to...

Yea your right there isnt a curve... its just a straight raw power all over....

in seriousness... there is hella torque... in the low end but pretty controllable.. its easy to get to redline real fast.. in fact im thinking of gearing mine up in the front to get better top end but doing 5th gear power up wheelies on demand is sweeeeeet as hell......

4 strokes always have torque. They suck for total power when compared to a 2 stroke. I would rather ride a 2 stroke that a 4. My 2 cents.

Yea but id rather ride a 2 stroke. Banshee can get a 92 horse port job. Not even boreing it out. That would be some meat. But stock 4 strokes are faster and i belive its kinda like cheating using 2x the engine displacement.

I have a new 450 and already put full lone star racing front end axle and gytr pipe and such on it and let me say this they are fast and have plenty of tourqe they do have some 2stroke feel as do they have alot of top end power and they handle as good as my 250r did and jump just as well, lets just say they are bad to the bone and for all you 2 strokes freaks out ther I broke down and sold my full lone star racing 250 r with full lrd racing motor that was as fast as you can get just because I love this 450 that much and said i would always have my 250r yes they are that good and have been runnin in the pro class in the http://www.tqra.com/ untill this year and went to the over 30 class so I aint no dumba$$ and I know what i am talking about and as for the honda it will be a great bike but it will never dominate like a 250r did the technolagy is just to close these days so it will be just like street bike which is better an r1 or 954 or a gixxer 1000 there is no way to tell really it is all personal I know a gixxer is faster than an r1 but gues what it aint near as sexy so I ride the slower r1.

i go by performance more than looks, looks do matter to me tho. how can you even compare a 2 strokes power to a 4 strokes power, i understand the newer 4 strokes have a different powerband and such but you can make a motor do anything with the right technology. there 2 completely different motors that each have advantages and disadvantages.

Xidium, You need alot more than what that thing includes to get 92 HP, ever think of pipes, carbs, air filters, reeds, and getting it all done, it would cost ALOT more than $1,000. your not going to get 92 HP with stock carbs and pipes on, Sorry. Tripling the banshees HP isnt going to be so reliable on the bottom end either, not to mention the reliablity on the top end too.

adam i disagree with you... there are no advantages of owning a 2 stroke... anything you do with a 2 stroke you can pretty much do with a 4 stroke... only one thing is different... the 4 stroke is more reliable...

speaking of banshees i had one that was a full lone star honda geometry with a full lrd motor in it also the bike cost arond 20,000 to build and 4 of that was in the motor and yes it was fast as hell and some what reliable but was it that much faster????? not 4000 worth and it was fun to ride never got beat in a holeshot but it still was not a 250r so with that all being said it brings me back to this the new 450's from both company's will be more then a 2 stroke will ever want! ok ok we all know that a 2 stroke the same size as a 4 stroke will out run the 4.
