However Dan, I think that they are done like Hazen's "Manual". I mean he's got the quad balancing where it needs to be and the engine is off so I guess all thats left is to just let go of the bars.
I have also seen a guy do a no hander cliffhangar style using his right foot to run the gas. I tried it a few times, but fell off every time.

no hander
Dan,
reach down and crank up your idle, cover your rear brake, dump the clutch, throw it on its back and draaaaaaaag the brake. Of course i have never done it but i have seen it done a dozen times.
Go on GMO's board and ask Levi

o.k to start no i cant roll em more than ten feet but ive only tried a few times
first start in second going pretty slow though, then get your clutch foot back in the bar. when you rip it up ride it till you have a nice set speed at the balance point then start to lean your body like into your handlebars or at least try to lean your weight forward, when you start to lean forward your quad should feel like its going to go over backwards, when this happens start to use the brake(this will take some time cuz you'll probably hit the brake too hard or not enough).after a sec of coasting youll feel that right balance point where you can just let go. for awhile it will just fall if your weight isnt proportioned right so just keep trying and remember to get your upper body as close to the handlebars as possible to keep the weight of the quad balanced
hope this helps some
