bought the new kfx450r.

So I picked one up this weekend and had a chance to beat it a little bit. Its a GREAT quad and for trails and should be a blast on the track but it lacks a bit of engine breaking so it makes off the peg stuff a bit harder then the 400's but its still completely possible.

Re: bought the new kfx450r.

Nope, its like butter and its not even broken in yet. Great power band and the efi is very snappy. Its about dead even with the other 450's but its looking like it has FAR more potential with just mild bolt on's and a power comander. Plus no jetting for elovation :-) Another thing is that I thought it was going to be fairly hard edged since its a racer but it is very very forgiving.

Re: bought the new kfx450r.

I was wondering about the new kawi's I did'nt like the kfx 400's to much, Ya the fuel injection has to be good. I think the only other one with that is the new Raptor 700's.

Re: bought the new kfx450r.

The kfx700 is actually a pos, but the kfx400 is actually a really sweet quad. Its the EXACT same thing as the z400, and dvx400 and is one hell of a good trail quad. The new raptor 700 is extreamly nice and yes it has efi but so does the new ltr450, but the ltr is too wide for trails and it doesnt have reverse. For me it was between the raptor 700, kfx450, and the new polaris outlaw/ktm 525. Ended up getting the kfx cause I didnt like how big the other two felt.

Ummmmm After Blox and Blox of Automatic Wheelies.
I'd Have to Agree to Disagree.. Besides a Banshee the KFX 700
was one of the most aggressive quads i've been on...
Maybe a POS to stunt but , as a quad and for wheelies!!!!!

Well as a service writer for a kawi dealer for over three years, and after riding even the baddest of all kfx700, I would have to say that either your on drugs or you have very little experiance with quads and or stunting. Anything can do wheelies, but that doesnt make it a good bike/quad IMO.

Re: bought the new kfx450r.

I think to some degree the KFX 700 is a piece of **** my friend has one and there belt driven and his belt keeps slippen or somthing it runs like crap most of the time. If you could switch to chain it would be sick. Although on the other hand it is very powerful, U can hold the front brake and just hit the gas and it will spin them on dry pavement like nothing and it does wheelie well, but it is one of the bigger heavier feeling quads I rode. I can't remember it had 3 brakes I thought it might have a hand brake for the rear I'm not sure? I thought it might? I have'nt seen it in a while. I ride a 400ex bored out to a 440 I like it alot. But everyone likes there own thing. My friend says he likes his 700 and his utility ones cause its automatic and he likes his beer cup holder he says he spills to much on the race ones. Ha.

Most Likely Was !!!!!

I've Only Ridden 3 different Quads in my Life....
Kawi 250 Mojave ( MIne)
98(?) Banshee....( by far my Favorite)(cuzinz)
07 KFZ 700.....(Friends)

The 700 is a bit Big for the streets but i Liked it.
He had a Scrape bar on it. and we were rocking Standups
down the block.. So as a seasoned Quad rider you Probly Know alot
more than me about quads. but from going from my R1 to the quad
Was different and exciting to me. and i had a great day and alot of fun that day. So maybe it does Sux... But it Sure Proved itself to me
i had a Blast on it ????

Yeah if you ride a lot of other things you will develop a slight dislike for the kfx700. Its heavy, it doesnt turn and the throttle is pretty splotchy. I completely see where your coming from though as they can be a lot of fun to beat up on for a couple hours, I would just never spend any of my money on one. If your just looking to have some fun and bust out some wheelie's you should try the z400/kfx400/dvx400 as they have just enough power to not make you crave a lot more and they are super stable. The 400ex is fun for just wheelie's but past that and I get very very board with it.

Re: bought the new kfx450r.

Nice! I really like the looks of the kfx450. I am thinking of picking up a Raptor or a kfx before summer is over. I have ridden both the Raptor (Had an 04 for a few months then someone wanted it more than me ) and the Suzuki 400z and of the 2 I like the Raptor a lot more myself but that Kawi looks sweet! Now to find someone to let me ride one to help me decide what to buy.

BTW, What kind of wheeler is that on the left? The orange one. Looks sweet.
