Quad vs Street bike.
Quad vs Street bike.
Well my buddy who is my age (18) has been through a lot of bikes since he was 15. He is a decent rider and can just wheelie for miles (not a stuner though). THis is the same kid that rode my quad and 2 days later went to the dealership and bought a new one.. lol.
He has been practicing 2nd and 3rd gears on his 06 (where im more in the stunting area with 1st and 2nd).
We were talkign about it and he says the quad is flat out scary compared to throwing a rocket up on one wheel at 70 and just blasting for miles. His favorite bike by far is the R1.
I have barley ever got to ride a street bike so I can't really have an opinon...
What you guys say.,.,.,., quad more scary or no?

I guess he explination was the balance point is much easier on the bike... the quad isn't so much....
But i can see what you mean about the wheels coming down strait.. lol... quad would save ur *** in that situation...

Re: Quad vs Street bike.
i had my sv1000 for bout a week and was doing 2nd and 3rd gear stand ups nothing really long maybe 1/2 mile but i was going fast i think the whole going from thumb to twist trottle has a big part in it plus when your going 65-70 on a bike and need to grab the rear brake to stop from looping its alot harder on the arms i almost flopped ahhahahaa
Re: Quad vs Street bike.
I think they are just different...... they have different characteristics and therefor work in different scenarios..... I think a 4 wheeler is a great stepping stone to bikes...
I think that a Bike is easier to wheelie at high speeds and a quad is easier to wheelie at low speeds.... I think it has to do with the Long wheelbase on the bike vs the short wheelbase on the Quad...... At speed it's harder to control a short wheelbase wheelie.
Short wheelbase also makes it easier to launch a wheelie though...especially from a dead stop.... I think alot of the differences come from the wheelbases just my
Streetbikes have other stuff working for them.... an inline 4 has a ton more gyroscopic effect than a single cylinder....this gyro effect helps stability....
but all in all.... balancing a wheelie on a bike...is the ****... more true balance involved, plus a much smaller contact patch that's being balanced on ....

yea bikes r deff. harder, when i was on the 400ex i practiced and could do about every wheelie named(except the damn superman 1
)
now with that gone i can kill sit-downs on my 954rr
but man they r some sweet sit-downs
