Question Are those days gone???

The days where everyone wanted the same thing.

Where everybody was hungry for progression, while still showing respect to all fellow riders no matter what their ability.

The days where someone would post a picture of a trick, regardless of what it was, and they would get 15 replies giving them props.

There was a time when everyone knew who the best were, and those riders known as "the best" did not have to come on here telling everyone how great they were.....and it didn't matter.

When everyone here used to beg and plead to see posts with pictures and videos, no matter what the tricks were, or how good the riders were that were in them.

When the simple fact that you loved the sport was all you needed.

....and for me personally.....

What about the endless days practicing the same tricks over and over again.

The endless nights thinking of what to try next.

The excitment you have when you have a memory card full of pictures and you are ready to upload them for all to see.

The thrill you get when people write to you from States acrossed the country, and countries all over the world, just to say how much they enjoy watching you ride.

Back when you used to respond immediatly to all of those emails.

When the thought of being in a real DVD sounded like a dream come true.

When we all wanted the same things.

The suprise you got, when reading through posts on other forums and the name "CVBOYZ" gets brought up by someone who you don't know, and from a place you'd never heard of.

When you check the website stats every day, to find more posts like that, in forums from places like Australlia, Ireland, Germany, England....etc....(it was cool to read through a language you did not understand and then see the word CVBOYZ in the middle somewhere with a bunch of "!!!!!!!!").

How you couldn't believe that people actually knew who you were when you went into different quad related chat rooms, or were invited into large forum AOL chats.

When you couldn't believe that some stunt groups actually split up....or had members that didn't want to ride.

and....when you thought that days like that would never be just a memory....

Re: Are those days gone???

Amen brother !!
I am new to this game but NOT MOTORCYCLING !!
I do feel alot of brotherhood here by you and several other folks and i apreciate it

I do this because I truely love to ride more than anything and love the comrodery that comes with motorcycling. Sh.t they are normaly the only people i can even relate to.

It's obvious to me who the real posers are and who realy loves what there doin. It's not going to dicourage ME even pushin 40 can't chase me away that easy.

I realy believed for a while it was just a internet thing but it's mutch more !!

deep words man! As a newcomer to this great world of stunting, the biggest thing i enjoy is just the pure friendliness, and commroderie everyone has. Sure, everyone likes to show off once in a while, but people dont need to be talking **** 24/7! All i know is that i love this sport, and would never want to tarnish it with my ego

Jeez! Sorry I said anything Phear! And no those days aren't forgotten... hence the reason I said in the email... "I just want to ride my quad".

well said josh, hence the reason i havent been on in a while nor my friends when your busy with life and trying to get pics and vids and stuff it seems like you cant do it fast enough just for someone to slam you and tell you the you suck. that is the wrong attitude to have, and it makes people like me and alot of others just step back and say screw it. attitude its all about your attitude. you guys be safe but have fun ,

Thumbs up Re Josh

yeah man.. i hear ya...
I hope peeps don't think im one of the **** talkers on here. I know i prolly respond to stuff that isn't even worth responding to, but i jus dont like seein peeps talk **** to other stunters on here just to see themselves write...
I know all I have prolly accomplished is adding to the drama, and for that i apologise, but on the same hand, i have never been on to just sit back and keep my mouth shut when someone is flaming on one of my buddys.

I will, however, make a concious effort to stop replying to b.s. posts. I hope I have not offended any one on here, as you all are what i would consider to be a kinda "close knit family" in the stunt industry. If we all stick together, we can make this sport into what it deserves to be. A sport. Thats right, i said it, a sport.

to all of you... I hope to meet each and every one of you someday, and we can make this sport a household name...

That's a good post Phear, I know what ya mean, I wanna see more pics, and when there's not six feet of snow around here I wanna take some pics f*ckin' snow! (I've said that a million times)

Why am I up on Sunday @ 8 a.m., 'cuz yesterday my friend calls and tells me he wants to go snowboard, so I go to bed early, get up early, call him and he's hungover so he isn't gonna go! (not that I expect you guys to care)

Re: Are those days gone???

if those days are gone i'll shoot myself now... i haven't even been on this site for long and i still live for short *** vids of newbies practicin their first wheelies and stuff. if i could get my digital camera to not kill batteries in 3 minutes i would be one of those guys!

"THOSE DAYS" as you call them just started for me...

The arguing is outta hand on here... How long did the handbreak **** go on?
I watched the dirty jerzey vid and was like, man that's some sweet lookin ****, i'm tryin to rock a handbreak! but i still feel respect for austinz400 (i think it was him) who said he would rather ride without one just to push hisself to work harder.

we're all tryin to do the same **** around here. we all live for the same thing. let's enjoy it together. rock on

Re: Are those days gone???

Thanks guys....I'm not trying to down any of the people here on stuntlife or anything like that....Guess I'm mainly just saying how the game has changed from my perspective. Everything just seemed so fresh (probably like it does for you guys just gettin in the game now). We had a really small group on here originally, back in the day.....Myself, Merk, 1000ceecee (Jay Carnes now), Sclevela (he was a little less...ummm..."vocal" back then), and of course Drew and the other CVB members. Tiller was around occasionally too, but wasn't really into the quad scene back then. And of course there were others that I can't think of right now cause I'm still in a haze because of day-light savings time. I dunno....just everybody got along and our only purpose for being here was to see...not to be-seen.

Overall over the last month or so I have seen a big improvement here, and it's cool to see the new peeps posting up pics and videos and getting some respect for being new in the game.

Some recent events took place which made me question my future in this "sport", and I was just thinking back to how things used to be, and how it sucks that things do have to change. However, one thing hasn't changed...and that is my love for stunting, and the good things that come with it. It may get a little clouded sometimes, but when I sit down and think about things, it's always still there.

Thanks for listening to my rant guys!

-Josh

I was stunting back when u guys were making yer VHS tape. But for me it hasnt changed too much. The comps are the only thing thats changed. Christ we just rode in a parade sat in the pooring rain for maybe 75 people .. it took us longer to load, get there and get home and unload than it did to ride the 3 blocks in the parade. But it was all for the kids(handed out free stickers) and the town . It wont change for us.. we have 4 solid teammates now and things look great for this year!!

Maybe we'll see some of u guys around.. if not have fun.

Yup, Like I said...anybody I mentioned about changing was all from my point of view.

One thing that I meant to mention at the end of my last post before I was interupted because a Customer here at work somehow got ahold of my Cell phone # was the on the up side to all of the negative things that I had talked about, is the fact that teams like yours are out there going strong and keeping things positive. Especially guys Like Carl (aka gusgreenwall) out there proving that it's not about the tricks you pull, its about the fun you have (though he doesn't give himself enough credit as far as skill goes). Guys like you and Chad, that really like to push yourselves, and still look at all and any competition as friendly competition and the chance to ride with and spend time with others who enjoy doing what you do.

That's what it's all about.

Yer gonna see us around....I can't promise that it will be in person very often, but that's one cool thing about video cameras and the internet I guess.
