300ex i had mine sice i was 11 runs a like a champ

 

i got a 300ex when i was 12...it was straight for a while, but eventually you need more speed.. then i got a z a year ago..

 

yeah you will get bored with anything under a 400, lol my first quad was a raptor 660 lol and i didnt have any problems with it. I loved it and i also had a kfx 400 same thing as the z400 and my yfz450 and i loooooovvvvvvvveeeeeeee my 450:YEAH

 

I would just get a 400 just for the simple fact that they are a good platform to start with.

 

i want a 400 but my 300 stays next to them in a race

 

300ex hands down...

 

stock for stock its not gunna, if you get a 400 for cheaper than your modded 300 and just a quik you'll be already a head of the game.

 

Hell, the TRX250 or the 300EX should be sufficient for quite an amount of time.

If you get bored on them, STUNT MORE...

I could do anything on my 250X.

 

I m only 15 and I started out with a LTZ 250 but I soon got bored. If he wants to race ,which I know he probably will, get him a LTZ 400 but just to ride around Raptor 350.

 

if your goin to race and want a 400 your best bet is to get a yfz 450

 

Yeah yfz's are nice but I race a ltr 450 and I'm almost strickly a Suzuki guy. By the way ltr's are not good wheelie machines. But they are great racers stock, right out of the box

legally i can't tell you to ride any of those, cuz i work at a honda dealer and i'm not supposed to. so i won't tell you that the 300ex will grow with you, take a beating for years, and have the best resale value when yer ready to trade up.
it's also chain drive, has a real clutch, and did i mention it'll take a beating for years?
but, since yer in CT...send yer parents down here and i'll sell them one...for their usage...*wink*wink*

I just bought an 06 Raptor 350 and love it......K&n pipe jet kit and tires, great for trails and whatnot
