Sprocket sizes

Hey guys, I'm gonna put some new sprockets on the quad.

I wanna gear way down since pretty much all i do is stuntin on the quad,

whadda u guys suggest, rite now stock i have 13 in teh front and 40 in the back.

smallest front i could find was 12, and not sure how big to go in the back, cuz i dunno how big of a difference it makes. I know on the bike u have to go like 5 teeth at a time to make big differences. Not sure about the quad though.

I'm told that just goin 1 tooth in the front is gonna be alot more torque.

Re: Sprocket sizes

nahhh, I mean the warrior has enough.

same as a bike on stock gearing has enough power to pull it up.

Re: Sprocket sizes

every 3 teeth you go up in the rear is like going down 1 in the front or vise versa hope that helps

Re: Sprocket sizes

i know that, its pretty much the same rule of thumb on bikes.

I wanna know how major of a change it is.

Like i went from a 45 to a 50 tooth in the back on my 98 gixxer, and it was a change, but not a night and day difference.

But i'm told goin 1 down in the front on a quad is a major difference.

I'm jus wonderin if i should get 1 down in the front and 2 up in the back, or if just the 1 down in the front will do

Re: Sprocket sizes

if all your your gonna do is stunt riding go 1 down and at least 3 up in the rear you wont lose that much gear in 1st or 2nd but you should have butt kickin torque i went down 1 in the front and up 20 in the rear on my xs 650 yamaha and i gave me almost the same gearing as a quad hahaha

Re: Sprocket sizes

thats pretty much all i use the quad for.

Only reason i got it was to get some practice at rear brake and throttle control, so i can start really gettin into stuntin the bike
