I live in Vermont, crash all the ****in time, own a jacket too, but somehow seem to always be in shorts and a tee-shirt when I go down. 
But you know what, "it's too damn hot," so I wear shorts and a tee-shirt everytime I ride. I just don't care anymore. I'll ride how I'm comfortable. I can't imagine having to wear a jacket in AZ, actually I wouldn't.

All those circles in the 1st pic are from a wreck about 5 minutes prior!
