lowered bike

Hey, any of you tried lowering your bikes, just wondering what it does to the performance, not so much for stunting more for twisties and overall handling. I put a little over 10,000 miles on it since I picked it up last year and do fine with the right boots but it would be nice to wear something different for a change. thanks

BTW I ride a yzf 600r

The lower you lower a bike, the worse it is for the twisties.. It depends on how low you wanna go.

A couple of inches would do it.

my bike is slammed for drag racing.....used the BDI lowering links from Schnitz Racing, which lowered the bike 3". I have other things done to the suspension and forks for racing, which also change the handling dynamics, but....

JUST lowering the bike makes you have to muscle it more around the turns, since the center of gravity is lower....i.e., it's less "flickable".....

...and not just that, but if you REALLY like to lean like I do, you are much more inclined to scrape your pegs....because of this, I had to get rearsets from Protek, which put the pegs 1" up and 1" back. It's OK now.

I got my bike lowered a little bit for better balence. It rides good still. Have not really noticed the difference in the ride. Just feet touch the ground better now.
