Re: Andy and Brandon

Just for any riders that know and ride with us that happen to read thru this, take a few things into consideration-

First things first- Ryan was the one who took the time and effort to hook up with the people that own the airport. I definately understand his concern, and I will support him on this one, 100% As most of you know, Hinks, Brandon, Borne, etc. are all pretty open about where we ride, and try to include other people when possible and FEASIBLE. Under some conditions, there is an understanding with the property owners or the people that oversee it, whether it be the police, owner, security, etc. To openly invite more riders would be unfair to these owners and enforcers. When we approach someone about riding at their lot, there are always conditions that we need to adhere to, or we lose the spot- simple as that. Many people know that I have some people looking out for us in a few cities, but I cannot take responsibility for 15 guys that wanna ride. When people start coming to a spot in droves, the once cool police and business owners think that there may be problems, and they shut us down. Look at a certain spot in Highland park, and you'll see what I mean. We have ridden there for years with no problems, and now you can't ride for more than an hour before you get booted.

Please understand that I enjoy riding with everyone, whether they've been doing it for years, or want to start learning how to stunt. I will never be the type to blow someone off because they haven't been stunting forever. Many people have taken me under their wing and showed me the ropes over the years, but there was always a certain amount of respect that went along with riding. You get your own spot, keep it yours, and you'll be good. If you get an invite to another spot, fine- but don't skip people in the chain of command, so to speak.

Over the years, a few of us have had many spots taken away. Being too generous has had its disadvantages for sure. There is no shortage of parking lots out there, fellas, just do what we did and work for it. I know it sucks, but if we want to preserve what we have, we're gonna have to be a little more tight-lipped about where the spots are. Everyone is capable of doing the leg work- drive around, scout out some spots, and TALK TO THE OWNERS. Get permission, or if nothing else, let them know what you're doing, and what they can expect. Most of the time, permission to ride is pretty hard to come by, but alot of people turn the other cheek when they know you and a select few people are the only ones that are gonna show up.

I have been guilty of hitting other people's spots in the past, so I am not exempt from all of this, but I have learned that you need an invite EVERY time you wanna ride in someone's location that they worked for. I can tell those of you that haven't had it happen- its irritiating as hell to roll up to your spot, only to see three guys (whom you have maybe said 2 words to in the past, or worse yet, haven't even met) already riding looking at you like you're the new guy.

Back to the Highland Park location- As I said, Hinks, Myself, Brandon, Ryan, Ronnie, the STguys, and a few others have been riding there since the late 90's. We rarely had a problem with anyone, because the police and business owners knew our faces, our bikes, and what to expect from us. Now that stunting has taken off, 20 motherf*ckers show up every Sunday and start giving reason for the police and everyone else to look closer. A couple weekends after that, some **** is doing burnouts in his car, people are everywhere, and it looks like a tailgate party at a Lions game. The next time out, more people show up, ride INFRONT of security guards, and to make matters worse, display a total lack of control of their machine and violently crash infront of the establishment he is supposed to be watching over. What is he supposed to do?????????? I know what I would do- call the cops and get the clowns out of there before someone dies or kills someone else. Guess he was thinking the same thing. Most people that you'll talk to that have been riding awhile say the same thing as me- we don't own any of the roads or parking lots that we ride in, therefore, we have no control of who goes there. Do what you will, but good spots are running out quick, and if people don't start showing respect for these spots, they're gonna be gone. I have a few I keep under my hat, and this time, they're staying there.

This wasn't really directed at anyone in particular, so for anyone that thinks I'm pointing fingers, don't. I usually type somthing like this out every year, and unfortuantely, I usually post about it right after a good spot gets smoked.

Hopefully, this helps people understand why we are quiet about where we ride, and why Ryan was so quick to speak up about the airport.
