New Metal Master Cages...

Here is the new Metal Master cage that has been designed for my bike. It is the first design and they may make a few minor adjustments. One of them would be welding a small square tube piece right below each bolt mount for more side-to-side support. The second would be adding a frame slider piece to the end of it to help absorb the impact. Once that is done the metal slider will be reduced by 2-3in. They used a double flat bar for the bottom brace. This should help/eliminate it form bottoming out on endos or comming off a trailer. For making this cage in 8hrs I would say it was one hell of a job. I think that the square tubing will hold up better as well. Let us know what you think or what modifications/additions could be made. Any questions can be directed to Redneckrider as he is one of the ones that fabricated it. I am sure he will be in here to help answer your questions and take your suggestions.

i would suggest putting another brace that goes thru the swingarm bolt and connects on each side...i would be scared of the engine mounts being broken...thats just my opinion...but looks nice

My only thing is a concern, not a dislike. This goes for this cage, the one's by F.I. or any similar design.

The part that sticks out farther than the rest up top that looks like a "slider" still looks like it would act as the major point of impact and absorb the most energy on a wreck. This could still lead to broken mounts.

Maybe if/when that "slider" is cut back a little like you described it would be it might not seem as bad, a view from the front to see how far that part sticks out would be nice too.

Looks solid though and maybe square stock bars will allow less side to side flex and less chance of damage to the case should it give slightly.

I will have pics of my cage mounted on my bike this weekend.
Good luck with the new product.

Anything for you man . That is one of the things we will be working on as well. Want to make it the frame slider material and stick out not too much further than a normal slider. Just enough though to absorb some of the first impact. Hopefully we can get the finished product up with in a month.

IMO I would tie the two mounts for the cage together. Also, cut down the metal slider, put some delron or something to aborsb the shock of hitting the ground might also help with broken mounts and what not.
