Come see Altered Minds at Pinks this weekend!
Re: Come see Altered Minds at Pinks this weekend!
LARGEST CROWD IN TRACK HISTORY
This past weekend’s PINKS: All Out television shoot at Milan Dragway hosted the largest crowd in the track’s history, as an estimated 33,000 spectators crossed through the front gates for Saturday’ shoot and Friday’s Test N’ Tune. The track, based just outside the city of Detroit, was founded in 1963 and has hosted many national touring series throughout its long history.
With gates opening at 9 a.m., fans entering the facility had completely filled the more than 17,000 seat capacity of the track by 1 p.m., more than eight hours prior to the start of the final shoot. For the PINKS: All Out crew, it was considered another benchmark for the PINKS spin off show, which began life at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis on Labor Day weekend of 2006.
“We came to the Motor City with high expectations, and we were still completely blown away by the outpouring of support from all the fans and participants,” said Robert Ecker, SPEED VP of Programming and Executive Producer. “The track mounted an absolutely stellar event around the show; we couldn’t be more pleased with how things came together. The entire weekend had the feel of a mini-Woodstock…only with perfect weather and working toilets.”
Track Vice President Deneen Baxter talked about the day.
“The day was absolutely amazing,” Baxter said. “The energy and excitement that we felt from the racers and spectators going into the event was ten times larger on the day of the event. The SPEED Pink’s: All Out event was like no other. Everyone was happy, everyone was excited and everyone had a blast!”
The PINKS: All Out show from Milan Dragway can be seen on Wednesday night this coming September, only on SPEED.
