supermoto build?

hey guys ive been really into supermotos lately and am thinking of getting a crf450 to stunt with.
is making a supermoto as easy as putting street tires on a dirtbike or is there more to it than that? and if so what is it?

Re: supermoto build?

i understand lights, guages, and tires but when you say suspension and brakes do you just mean stiffer suspension and bigger/better brakes?

Re: supermoto build?

I havent ordered from either yet, but I will be soon. I noticed that epic has WAY cheaper shipping. I plan on getting the big stuff from epic and the stuff I cant get from them I'll get from motostrano. Motostrano def has a bigger selection though. But I think their may be more sites for CRFs like crfsonly.com I am going to be building a kxf250, if my trade goes through.

Re: supermoto build?

Ya check your states laws about bike requirements to make em street legal. My current state (alabama) just requires night time lights and I think a mirror.

Re: supermoto build?

If you build a kxf250 you will need the a big sprocket and a lighting coil with a cooling fan hooked up to it. A flywheel weight is nice and you will want passenger pegs even if it means building a subframe. I have a a supermoto stunt bike built out of an rmz250 05. Im about to build a 450

Re: supermoto build?

And I have warp 9s on mine its the way to go cause you dont cry as much the first time you scratch the **** out of them trying to do circle wheelies. but they come with a nice rotor and the caliper bracket
