crf250?

i am looking to buy a crf250 for a supermoto stunt bike just wondering which model is better crf250x or crf250r? and where is a good place to find stunt parts for the supermoto's? i don't have my licence so street legal doesn't matter. and are any years better than others?

Re: crf250?

the wr250x is a dual sport, u can stunt it out for alot less and its already street legal so when u get ur license ur set, but thats just my opinion and its fuel injected

Re: crf250?

The crf will be considerably sharper than a wr250x. I've hear 250 motocross bikes are a bit nervous on the gas, almost like 2 strokes, never tried one though.
I'd say the crf250x would probably be better, enduro model ussually has a heavier flywheel and a gearbox better suited for stunting (atleast thats true for the 450x, not 100% sure bout the 250). You'll be better off for the streets aswell with lights and electric start is so much better than having to kick.

Anyone who has experience with both models correct me if I'm wrong...

Re: crf250?

I ran both the CRF250 X and R. The R is definitely better for stunting but it wouldnt take much to modify an R motor to suit stunting....really its just a heavier flywheel and an X cam. Right now I have a street legal CRF 250R with a 250X/R motor hybrid.

crap dude, mistype. the X is definitely better for stunting. Supermotos really dont need stunt parts. ive been stunting for 3-4 years and just now bought my first stunt related parts for it......the full throttle dual rear caliper set-up.

Re: crf250?

^ where did you get your sprocket and front disc/caliper from? And, after you find a 250 to stunt, how much is it, generaly speaking, to convert it to supermoto?

$1,000-1,200...will get you rims, tires and an oversize front rotor setup. Keep a look on ebay for some used stuff.
