Need some CRF450R reliability input

Hey guys,

I'm looking for something to replace my TTR125L. I did a lot of research on 450 4strokes and read that many people have valve issues with the CRF450R's...

My local Honda dealer has a leftover 2008 CRF450R which I can get a very good deal on. Do you guys know if the valve issues have been fixed on the newer models? Or do these valve problems only apply to CRF's which are being raced hard?

I know that a few people on these site rock CRF450R's and I was hoping to get some reliability related feedback. Thanks in advance!

I beat on mine all the time, but before I put fans on it, I blew a motor to a million pieces. My rebuild has had no issues with lots of rides. Darius has been bouncing his off the limiter since 03 with no maintinance at all, maybe an oil change or 2, LOL.

That's what I wanted to hear! Thanks for your reply.

PS: I can't get enough of your videos Ryan. Circle wheelies, doing stoppies down stairs, etc, etc.....just amazing. I would be super happy to get to be half as good as you are!

Thanks!!! I have a complete DVD out too, on 50stunt.com. It makes the youtube stuff look like junk, LOL. You should get a supermoto stunt bike going for sure, that TTR looks super fun too. The CRF is sweet, but its big $$ to get it set up for full stunting. I do have a production subframe in the works though, for the 03-04 frame. I'm testing it right now

The best part is now that I have plastics, I can swap wheels and kill the mX track too

Doing some circles on them dirt tires ehh, lol, nice!..
I still like the CRF X models they got electric start, and already geared low enough in first to stunt, and fast enough in 5th to hit the street.
