'03 and '04 CRF 250R
'03 and '04 CRF 250R
I came across a dealer that still had brand new '03 and '04 model CRF250R's in the back. Never been bought or used.
I am just planning on using this as a parking lot stunt bike and no intentions of racing or making street legal. Are there any problems I should watch out for and which year is the better year?
And for the record, for parking lot tricks only, which is better: crf250 "R" or "X"?

The R is better. The X may have electric start I think, but for what you're doing, I'd go with the cheaper of the two. I also think the R has different gearing than the X. I believe the X has taller gears. At least that's what they did to the 450 R's and X's.

the X has a headlight, electric start(read battery, ###'s) and a kick stand. not stunt friendly items imo, but it'd be easier to make that bike street legal.
also it doesn't have taller gears...it has wider gears(wide ratio)... 1st gear is lower than the R, but the upper gears are taller than the R

Re: '03 and '04 CRF 250R
Ya, you are right. I decided I wanted to make it street legal after all, so I got the WR. This one is already street legal. The YZ is a nice bike too, but the WR is better suited for street. That's a clean WR in the pic.
Re: '03 and '04 CRF 250R
I meant "this one" as in the particular one I bought. The previous owner went through all the hassles and made it legal to ride on the street. Usually the title says: For Offroad Use Only. But he got a new title and it doesn't say that part anymore.
