Hand Brakes

So Everyone wants hand brakes... Including my team mate... So u know I figured he had one.. that he bought from motoheaven... so I figured why not just put it on my bike.. I knew i wasnt really gonna use it....

So Preacher bought that motoheaven kit... Damn that thing is exspensive... anyways my beef is that stupid dicatii master cylinder thing... I know u cant run shorty clutch levers... but i tried to put a stock GSXR lever assembly on and it still wouldnt work... after all this bs....

I went and took a 04 GSXR 750 Brake lever and put it on preachers put the shorty msr clutch lever on.. and BAM... there we go... **** is ready to rock.. not to mention it felt alot better than that damn ducatii lever which had no pressure no matter how much i bled it... and not to mention it looked stock when i was done.. I took the rear cup for the rear master cylinder and put it on the top fork bolt and it looks like it is stock and was ment to be... Copied the same for my new GSXR 600 and we are off....

Just thought I would post this in case people are buying that stupid ducatii brake master cylinder from motoheaven... dont get me wrong there line and fitting work.. but save ur money on that master cylinder!!!

Re: Hand Brakes

I have a ducati master that is just poo and won't lock up. So you replaced the master w. a gixxer?? (yr?)

So if I get a F4i brake lever I can run that on my ducati master???

Damn Ducati is spongy and not like my 954 front brake....I don't like it. Oh...I'm running a dual brake set up.

i've also found that along with the gp tech fitting darryl is talking about, 929 front masters and kawi front masters work well too. i hate those msr shorty levers. they don't make it easier to pull in!! i tried runnin one of those when i raced dirtbikes. think about it, why would a shorter lever, with less leverage be easier to pull in? i tried those things on a dirtbike and streetbike and was disappointed both times.

I'll have to agree those MSR shorty clutches are crap. I ran one on my GSX-R and a few other guys did too and we all hated them and returned out stock cluch levers back on. Also the MSR's wouldn't adjust well enough for coasties, you had to pull the damn things all the way to the grip to fully disengage the clutch!
