Let' be PROUD!!!!

I think I felt the earth stop for a second today when I had Heard Ryan stepped off of it.

I think the Detroit Stunt Community should be proud of how we take care of are own. This time of year seems there is a lot motorcycle related deaths. However most of these deaths are from street riders, the go-fast, highway/drag racers.

We should not be caught up in who’s fault, FTP, could a should a, would a BullCrap!! Were all mad!!! Were all Hurt!!!! Most of us glad it didn't happen to our riding partner. But the hard fact is it DID happen to someone’s partner and the RYAN is no longer with us. Lets not make this in vain.

OG's say what's on your mind! Teach! Lead by example. Wear your helmet! Lets be proud of the direction were taking this community. Lets mourn this poor kids death and use that energy to make ourselves proud of what we teach the next kid.

I do not agree with blaming the police. I think that is the weakest replied I have heard. To use kids as an example as to say you don't want to police chasing people at high speeds by your children. COME ON!!!! What’s going to happen when someone is speeding on the very street your kids on and you ask the police to enforce the law with handcuffs on??? I would much rather have a trained police officer speeding in my neighborhood then a bunch of Hotrods, Harleys, or Rockets.

We are responsible for our own actions. I don't know the details of what happened with this young man. What is tragic is we asked this kid to be responsible for he’s actions at such a young age.

Let’s mourn, let’s teach, let’s learn, let’s be proud, and let’s do what we can to make this not happen again.

Well, for someone I agree with most of time........this time I don't, that's whats great about a free world and forums. Posting up and typing "RIP" is great and awe, but doesn't help solve nothing. I'm looking at two things that caused this: 1-Ryan running when he shouldn't have & 2-A cop chasing at high speeds causing the accident.

1-If you think by talking to a 17 year old is going to stop this, your wrong. Most people on this forum must not have older kids or to old to remember themselves at that age. At that age the last thing you do is listen someone older. I never did and teenagers never will. Yah, ten years later they come back as say I should of when the wisdom of age has set in. So try all you want, you won't reach most teens. This doesn't me don't try by any means, but girls and peer pressure are there main drivers.

2-The one thing that is "controlable" is a law eliminating high speed chases when deemed not important, as in this case. bottom line, if the cop wouldn't have chased Ryan he wouldn't be dead....so it is a cause of his death. Sure, sure....maybe he would have wrecked later or whatever.....but maybe he would have just go some roadrash and learned a lesson and stopped speeding on his own. He will not have that choice now.

Another thing, this is the time to talk about these things.......no matter what opinion you have. There is a young man dead and any suggestions, ideas, improvements to the system to help reduce this is good. I personally don't believe he needed to die for speeding. If he had just murdered a family and kidnapped some kids or something, then so be it.

This is just my opinion and has been for about 15 years and even before I started riding croch rockets. I had seen a special about high speed police chases back then and all the deaths they have caused and I've never thought differently since.
