Re: Battle in the south....

Hey not trying to be negative about this stunt comp that yall are holding but don't you think for such small payouts that the entree fee of $20.00 per event is a bit steep. If the payouts are going to be that small the entrey fee should be also ,more like $10.00 per event . I would have no problem paying $20.00 if the pay outs were like $500 to $600 for 1st place. Just wanted to put my in on that .

Re: Battle in the south....

you have no idea how tough it is to host an event and try and make enough to pay the track fees, insurrance, payouts......ect 20.00 is plenty reasonable

during our event neither stuntlife nor us made any money, in fact we lost money.

I'm not saying it's not hard to host an event but if I were to do so I would have gathered up plenty of sponsors to help out with the event that I was holding just so that there would be higher payouts, and if I couldn't get enough sponsors so I could do this I wouldn't really even waste my time. I've been competeing in motorcycle races and stunting competitions for almost the past 17yrs and the only time that entree fees at that price were paid is if it were some big named event or it had high payouts.

here is the deal, when you host a 1st time event sponsors are a lil hesitant, so i have done good getting the sponsors to give me money, if this event is successful i can go to the sponsors & renegotiate for more money, i have to show them i am willing to put a lot of my personal money on the line and that I am not scared to do that, i need riders support for this event to make the next event even bigger, we all have to start some where, i think i have done good, providing free lunch for the riders, the winning team can get t-shirts & indv pro freestyle will be awarded with cases of red bull, also red bull will be there from 10-2, and in the lunch I'm providing water, gatorade, etc... from my pocket for the riders, thanks for any support

I know you have to start somewhere and it's great that your holding this event , which hopefully in due time will make our sport grow. My only complaint was the cost of the entrey per event. Me and most of my group will be there to ride and support your event , but after the cost of fuel there and back from tampa fl plus paying over $100 for that one day is going to be a little costly . I think that even if the events were $5 less that would make it to were more people would enter more comps which in turn will make you more $$ for the event. And $20 at the gate is just going to make it to where there is going to be a smaller attendence. We did a show a few yrs back where the promoter charged $20 at the gate and I'd say a pack of 200 to 300 bikes turned around and left. I'd say $15.00 sounds a little more reasonable. Just something to consider that's all.
