Looped the 600rr tonight
Got a chance to try stunting the 600rr some tonight and looped an endo, lol. The front brakes are a whole lot more "grabby" than the 900rr's were. The tygershark cage held up well, the OMR sub cage did ok. One of the peg mounts bent, but nothing serious. The subframe, however, was tweaked where the left peg is about an inch lower than it was. The right peg is sitting up about an inch or two higher than before. Basically the whole sub frame just twisted from the impact. Probably the stock passenger pegs would have just snapped, but with the OMR sub cage, all the impact went to the subframe. Tried bending it back out at the spot, but it was not having any of it
But I like the bike. It is hard trying to find that spot in the throttle where the front jumps up. Where the 900rr would be up to balance with almost no throttle at all, I gotta give the 600 quite a bit more. But I will figure it out eventually. Still learning...bike will be fine and I am fine. I hopped back on and rode for about another hour or so. Hopefully the weather will hold so I can get back out there again soon.

Re: Looped the 600rr tonight
the subcage makes the subframe stiffer so i suspect it would have bent more with the stock peg brackets flipping a stoppie and having a 400 pound bike landing on the tail will usually bend a subframe no matter what you do ......
any ways im glad you didn't get hurt

Re: Looped the 600rr tonight
It actually landed on the side, but yeah. No worries, it was either replace passenger peg brackets or bend the subframe a bit. I think I should be able to bend the subframe back and it will be ok.
Re: Looped the 600rr tonight
Heard that about Jason from D a few mins ago. Mike's loopage was pretty sweet, I was ridin next to him. Had he of been rollin faster it would have been one hella sweet wreck, luckilly he was at a stop and it just fell from 12 to the side.

Re: Looped the 600rr tonight
Talking to a buddy of mine that races, he said it is quite possible I can bend the subframe back. He said he has done it several times on his race bikes. Just need a little heat and a pry bar.
Re: Looped the 600rr tonight
i am taking a pry bar home from work tonight and gonna straighten my 636 subframe. no need for the heat, just make sure you have a strong person holding the bike while you pry.
Re: Looped the 600rr tonight
also the heating it and then cooling quickly after it has been straightened will help it to minimize any weakening that may occur and also to help keep you from overtwerckin it and breaking it completely while you and gorrilla man are prying on it,,anyways good luck get used to fixing and then breaking stuff the next day welcome to stunting
