Question need tips on how to do SLOW wheelies

i can write a book on what or how i think they should be done.

all i can do for wheelies are power wheelies, i can yank it up FAST from almost a stop, but i am to much of a ***** to get to the balance point.

can anyone suggest hows the best way to get that and about covering the rear break.

probably sound like a noob, but i am trying to get them slower.

and dont want to ruin spots if HIGH RPMS are doing it.

thanks guys.

first you wanna get comfortable using the rear brake as an "oh ****!" device. Use it to bring down a couple of normal wheelies just so you have somewhat of an instinct to step on that *****, if you don't already. Then just practice clutchin up wheelies from a slow roll, a little taller each time. Keep practicing and when you get tall just hit the rear brake soft so the wheel gets lower but doesn't come down, unless you need it to. Good luck

so your saying i dont have to get to the balance point, just yank it up and do what i normaly do @ like 10-11 oclcock, just use the rear to slow it down?

i didnt think it would work like that.

if thats what your saying, ill try it. i can yank it up from a stop almost, but always use the throttle hand to control everything.

When you're not tall enough, hitting the brake will just bring it down. What Kevin (KC50) is saying is, just get use to the feel of the brake being under your foot. Tap it a few times while doing a wheelie just to get a feel for where it is. You must learn to clutch it up in first, start small and just practice until you can bring it up a little higher each time. The biggest key to riding out a slow wheelie.....bring it up to the balance point really quick! Its hard for me to explain anymore than this, because Im still learning myself. Practice practice practice!

thansk guys, ill start working with the rear break feeling it out.

and then its like useing the break to slow down your speed WHILE holding it there at the balance point it sounds like.

cool thanks guys.
